As totally nude may be uncomfortable for those that prefer clothing optional and only wish to be partially nude, the same can be said for those who prefer totally nude, clothing optional or partially nude is uncomfortable for them.

I am happy that the AN areas are just that. If someone wants options, guess they need to find another resort. Couples knows what works for them and their guests, is my guess.

Default Why we wear clothes and advantages of going nude

Other people have given reasons to go nude, but there are some other reasons.

•It's good for the brain: Doctors say daily "naked time" promotes an expanded range of motion that fosters brain development. If our brains do indeed develop throughout our lives, it stands to reason that the AARP-crowd could benefit, too.
•It's a bacteria-buster: Clothes are a breeding ground for fungi and bacteria that cause toenails to rot and bring on urinary tract infections.
•It boosts self esteem: Researchers have found that nudists have "significantly higher body self-acceptance."
•It's better for our wallets, our planet: Americans spend $900 million on bathing suits each year; that's a lot of manufacturing.

The only reason I found so far to the origin or wearing clothes is in Genesis when Adam put on a fig leaf to cover his shame.

    Just for thought

As I said earlier (my Sandy Hook post) just split the imaginery line as we did at CN on a few days our last visit, we were just at the end of the fence between nude/textile. I was on the nude side my wife topless on the textile side and our chairs were two inches apart, if you want to work it out to keep both happy it can be done. I would get up walk to the water nude and she would get up and walk to the water topless no big deal, we both had wonderful Couples Smiles!!

    Default That made my day!

Columbo, you have just made my day. I think that would work for us too. I am really excited. I talked with my wife, and I think that arrangement will work for her too. I remember that end of the beach was never realy crowded anyway. I think it was to far away for the red flag service, and most were positioned farther on down.
I guess that "no problem mon" can apply to almost everything in Jamaica.
Johnny Cash "walked the line", Mrg will "split the line".

    mrg,
Its a short walk to the beach bar on the nude side, so hop on over pick up a drink for you and the wife and you will be her red flag supplier!!!!

Enjoy, have a great time. We are headed back in July on the 11th and will most definetly walk the line once again and I will pick up those valuable brownie points retrieving drinks for my wfe at the nude bar and providing her red flag service by me!!!!!!!!

Great solution ... when we were there in April, there were several couples that did the same thing. Sure seemed to work for them and everyone else. and yes, as they say "no problem mon". It's all good...
    Enjoy

    Default columbo...

Is there an "line" at CTI? I really want to do the AN thing but my husband really doesn't.

Sorry only been to CN I have no idea how CTI is set up, but it sounds like the island is only nude and an area by the dock is topless making it appear that the water would seperate you and your hubby, sorry. Maybe someone else can jump in here and better explain the set up at CTI.

No, there is no "line" at CTI. The island is nude only. You could have him try it for 5 minutes on the island and if he still objects, then the boat will take you right back over to the resort.

I didn't realize that people are REQUIRED to be nude to enjoy the small island before we booked. Don't know how I feel about that. I don't know if I'll be able to talk him into it. Is there an actual beach area on the island?

StaceyJB, no there really is not a "beach area" on the island. I couldn't tell you much about the main beach either, since we only did a trading places from CSS to CTI, and we spent the one afternoon we were there on the island.

If you really want to try it, try and convince him to try it for just a half hour or so, and if he doesn't like it, then go back to the main beach. Chances are, if he is willing to try it for you, he will like it. You will find the people who frequent the island as non judgemental and great to be around. If he doesn't want to socialize, go the the right side of the island, and just relax as a couple. May be if he reads a little on this message board about the AN experience, he will be more willing to give it a try. Good luck.

Thanks! I will have him read this board. Can you swim and/or snorkel around the island?

    Stacey,
There is a tiny little "beach" if you could call it that. It is a sandy area near where the shuttle boat docks. It faces the resort, but is far enough away that gawkers won't be gawking. Lots of times we go down there to cool off and sit in the ocean. Some people do snorkel a little bit around the island, but on the ocean side of the island it might get pretty rough, and the rocks are sharp, so I'd do so with caution.

Yes you can but keep in mind there is a lot of rocks and sea urchins so you have to be careful.

Stacey, I found the snorkeling off the island to be quite good. See my post in this previous thread for a detailed description of my snorkeling experience off of the island... http://couplesjamaica.biz/mb/showthread.php?t=4054

Take it all off, sit y your selves. Many people covered part way with a towel and when they got up, wrapped a towel around them selves. on your lounge cover your privates loosely. You will see everything from people walking like it is nothing to a sarong or towel if going to the bar or rest room. Just disrobe once you return to your area. No one looks or even cares. Not to sound harsh but it is no big deal

THe A/N rule is the best. There is one exception that I would not mind. Allow women during "that time of the month" to wear their bottom as long as they are topless and the man would have to nude.
