CTI or CN???

We are vacationing in Oct. and can't decide between CTI or CN. We want a place with AN beach. We haven't been to either. We thought someone could answer a few questions for us...

Is there a beach on Tower Isle for swimming or just the pool?
Is there any shade on TI? Food? Drinks?
Is the AN section at CN right on the main beach - so no access to the water except through general population?
How do the main beaches compare for those long walks along the beach?
Any other info you can give to help us make a decision will be appreciated.

I'll let the CTI folks respond to TI as to CN I will give you the following.

CN's au natural beach is a designated area to the side of the resort located near building #9 and Grand Lido Resort.

Yes. Access to the beach/water means walking thru areas that are accessable to the public.

At CN you have about 1.5 miles of beach to walk. Not sure of the actual length. CN is said to have the BEST beach in Jamaica.

If you want to best AN area, try DSS and Sunset Beach.

Is there a beach on Tower Isle for swimming or just the pool? there is a very small beach area where you can go in the water. The pool is very small also, not really conducive to swimming, but has tables with a bench around it for sitting and socializing.
Is there any shade on TI? Yes, several pagodas. Food? No and this was something we thought was missing. In previous years they sent out burgers, fies, patties and kept them in the warmer. This year, no warmer. Drinks? Awesome drinks and all made from scratch by the blind bartenders as there are no mix machines, just a blender. Bottled beer and soft drinks as well.

The A/N area of CTI is the private island which is a reef. As you get out of the boat and walk up the path the tower is to the right. This where the restroom is. To the left is the swim up pool bar. You can also walk up to the bar. There is a deck around the pool and on the rest of the island. There are several pagodas for shade. If you go to the right as you get off the dock, you will go to the more private area if you are not wanting to socialize. We visited CSS' Sunset Beach for Trading Spaces and while the beach was nice and the pool was large enough to float in and they do have food, we didn't like that the public beach was right across the river. We also didn't like the jet skis that came to the beach or the water sports boat taking people skiing from this area. We also had local snorkelers walking the beach. So while it had its pluses, we found that we preferred TI, but I know there are others who prefer SSB.

We just came back from CTI on our first trip and loved it. It is a special place that is not crowded and is very friendly. The Island is so much fun. We met many very nice and interesting people. I recommend it.

We love it there and have trip #6 in July and #7 July 2013. The island is special.

Cn hands down..........best beach !!
