Default Expand CN A/N Beach & add pool/bar

Randymon - any chance that Couples would consider expanding the CN Au-naturel beach and add a small pool with a swim-up bar? And bring food to the area like they do at CTI and CSS?

It'd be nice to be able to stay there and have all of the niceties that the other ones have. I know that there is a small bar there, but it's so wonderful being able to swim up to one. We really are spoiled, aren't we?

Just an idea! Plus, I'd still love to try CSA, but there's no nude area there....just can't stand bathing suits.

    Hi lpmp,

Sorry, but that capital expense is not in the cards for now....

It isn't just a money issue. The main reason is that there are zoning restrictions and setback rules from the shoreline. As it is the hot tub just makes it and why its location in the far corner of the AN area. There just isn't any legal room to put a pool in the present AN area unless it was moved back to where the natural pool by where the front of bldg 9 is located. That also presents a problem as it would be in open view to both bldgs 6&9 and too many people don't want to see nekid people from their room views. When CN first opened, the AN area was on the other side of the property. Had they left it there, you might have used the dive pool and moved water sports to the present AN section but that isn't going to happen now. Sorry to say - it is what it is. Still better than than being at CSA without any AN area.

We should treat the A/N beach at CN just like we treat fellow nudies on the beach. Accept it as it is. We have been to CSS and CTI as well, but CN beach is by far the best. Would a pool be nice? Maybe for some, but the bay is wonderful. CN also draws the nicest people.

Please keep CN AN beach as it is. The bay is the perfect swinning pool and it's a nice break from the sun to slip on a tshirt and shorts to get some lunch.

    ENJOY!!!

    I like Randymon's answer... " for now.... ".

yes the beach is nice and so is the bay, but a pool would add to the experience a la Sunset Beach at CSS and and the island at Tower Isle. The swim up pool bars there becomes a social place and are very friendly, allowing you to meet and hang out (no pun intended) with others.

CN au naturel beach was nice and pretty but while there I felt it was more of a solitude visit, whereas you could be alone at either CSS or CTI if you chose, but still had the option to socialize. Plus a pool is very refreshing after baking in the hot sun. Maybe they could turn the hot tub into a cold tub.

    Maybe someday.

    Default hot tub hot

Hot tub hot is perfect at night. Pool is not needed at all as the ocean is so amazing, pools can be anywhere, but a beach like that with a nice warm ocean is rare. CN I miss you!!!

I agree totally. You can get in a pool just about anywhere! Can't find that ocean or beach just anywhere! I've looked in SEVERAL places to no avail. 76 days and counting til we are "home".

Thanks for your response Zambam - I got the feeling I was alone in my thoughts on adding a pool to the CN AN beach. Trust me, I love the ocean there - it is a fantastic beach. It's pretty much the reason (or one of many reasons) that we come to CN.

But it just feels like the CN AN area is kinda an afterthought. I sorta feel like the stepchild pushed to the side with the shrubs hiding us. You guys can't deny that it would be nice to have a small pool (like CTI) with a swim up bar. The little bar they have there now isn't always staffed and not fully stocked.

Plus, it would be really nice to have food brought over there. And a few umbrellas for when it gets crowded and you can't get under a tree....

another point is the heat/cooling off. The pool at SSB is definitely the social hub but in the middle of a hot afternoon many who are not social come and get in just to cool off. You can do that in the ocean too but not everyone wants to get in the ocean.

Default CN AN beach is just right!

The thing we like about the AN beach at CN is that it's not like CTI or CSS. As in, a couple isn't 'forced' to socialize, and can be left to focus on the Sea, the hot tub, and the small bar at CN. For disclosure purposes, we've not been to CTI or CSS, but a couple of years reading the MB seems to make the scene at CTI/CSS as much of a social event/gathering, as it is a quasi-therapeutic place, which we see the CN area as. No tan lines is nice, but the heat therapy our older bones enjoy from the sun, the warmth of the Sea, and the excellent location of the hot tub make it the perfect set-up. A separate pool would ruin CN for us, and it's a whole 45 second walk to the Casava Terrace for food. Multiple bars are less than the same distance.

Please, Randymon, don't change the CN au naturel beach area, if given the opportunity.

    Peace,
    TonyS

I vote for couples Negril buying the resort next to it, which is probably going out of business anyways and expand the AN area. Add a nice pool, volleyball area and 1 more building of hotel rooms with 1 restaurant/grill......it would be a huge hit and be fully most of the year.! IMHO

It's funny to me that people seem to think adding a small pool there would somehow make the "beach and nice warm ocean" go away. It would still be there, and using the pool would probably be optional so take a breath...
Unlikely to happen anyway, at least not for a good while.

If there was even a small pool there I would go to CN more, not less. Awesome ocean AND a freshwater pool... best of both worlds!

I'm w/ ya on all counts, lpmp !! I'd be more inclined to return to CN if there was a pool/umbrellas. Also, as dumb as this sounds.........I LOVE beach vacations, but I HATE sand on my feet all day !! So, I like having the option to sit on a pool deck & just LOOK at the sand/ocean !!

The problem with the "whole 45 second walk to Cassava Terrace or the multiple bars" is the putting on of the clothes! I don't want to put on my clothes to go get food! Once I do that, I feel like returning to my room. If you haven't tried the AN beaches at CTI and CSS, you don't realize what you're missing at CN.

And some people just don't feel comfortable walking into the ocean in all their glory with all of the clothed people watching - of course, I'm not one of them, but it does bother some people who do utilize the AN beach.

Don't get me wrong - we love CN and its AN beach. We just wish it had a couple more of the nice conveniences of the other two AN beaches like food, umbrellas, a better bar and a pool. I understand if the pool is not possible due to zoning restrictions - but consider giving us some of the other things.

We don't want to make it a social thing either - we don't really socialize when we're there. But we would like to see it be a little more convenient for us ANers.

We love CN's AN beach just the way it is. We love relaxing under the sea grape trees to stay out of the sun.

While I loved SSB we missed the warm bay to float in and are going back to Negril this year. I wish the AN area could be more private but tis what it is and if that's as bad as it gets then it's not so bad.

On another note, I think the lower pool at CN should becom European style, and leave the upper pool as is, some ladies would love to walk up from the bach take and quick dip grab a drink or bottle of water and head back to the beach. We have seen ladies shower off topless five feet from the pool and pool bar so whats the big deal taking a dip!!!

I totally agree!. It used to be a Grande Lido just like Sans Souci didn`t it? It has potential to be a very nice add on to CN and with Couples in charge you just know it would be a beautiful place.

Some of us would love to see a small a/n pool added there, some seem deathly afraid that adding a small pool will ruin everything they love about CN, and some want to add on an entire resort to that end of CN.

Actually, I've given up on the pool idea. But just give us a few umbrellas, a better bar and some food and I'll be happy (honestly, I'm already happy there, just want to be pampered a bit more). I just hate to put the suit back on!!
