When you are sunbathing in your birthday suit at CN, how do you get from the au natural portion of the beach to the water without being seen by, well... Everyone on the beach?! it is a public beach, no?
Also, is the AN swimming section roped off to separate it? I can just picture floating along with my eyes closed (are there floaties on the AN side?) and drifting down into the textile section! HELLO.
This will be my second attempt to enjoy being AN... We did SSB at CSS a few years back and basically stripped to our birthday suits as fast as possible and made a run for it to the concealing water of the ocean!!! Had a grand ole time floating and then came back, redressed in haste(!) and left. I don't feel like we gave it a fair shot (never even set foot in the pool/bar area) and would like a redo this time.
Yes, the beach is a public beach and so you will be "viewable" when you're walking into the water. That being said, it's really not a big deal. Most of the people on either side of the A/N beach are at a significant distance away, so no big deal. If you're really bashful, just take one of the floaties that's on each lounger and wrap it around your middle while you walk to the water. That's what I did when I was at CN's A/N beach the first day or two. By day three I was happily strolling into the water without anything covering me, now worries. It just stopped mattering, especially when I realized that nobody on the textile side was staring or making a big deal of it.
Yes, there is a roped-off section of the ocean directly off the A/N beach, so no worries about drifting down to the textile side. What was rather amusing for me was to watch the textile people float or swim over to the A/N roped off section, duck under the ropes, and then take off some or all of their swimsuits. My guess is that they wanted to go au naturel but weren't brave enough to do it all the way on terra firma (or their partner wasn't) so taking off all or some of their swimsuit in the water was all they could manage to do.
I encourage you to make that second attempt to go au naturel at CN! Definitely give yourself some time for the nerves to settle down. I'm always a little nervous and shy whenever I first step foot onto an A/N beach and take off all my clothes. It takes at least an hour for my nerves to settle down before I really start enjoying it. As others on this board have suggested, a little alcoholic beverage will help with the settling of nerves, too.
You are correct. You can be seen from the regular beach when you go to the water.
We really don't give it much thought. Once you've committed to being AN, does it really matter if other AN people or clothed people. It's not really a big deal. Anyone who finds it uncomfortable seeing AN folks just stays up the beach a bit.
The area is roped off and you can go on your floatie if you like. After a few minutes you'll adjust and the enjoy the lovely water of the bay.
It will be all the comfort you need as a relative newbie to being naked amongst others. Your angst is perfectly normal but it really isn't necessary.
Once you have been to CN and enjoyed the experience please return to the Au Natural forum and post your experience (good or bad). It would be really helpful to all those still not sure about whether or not to try AN.
you can't..... I think you should accept the fact that you're on a huge beach, shared with many other resorts, and you're naked. People are going to see you. I understand the sense of discomfort though... although it wouldn't bother me, I know the wife wouldn't enjoy it. For that reason, we're sticking to CSS and CTI. Which is fine wityh me... the CSS beach is amazing.
Well, hell...just strut your stuff down to the water and go in. No the swimming area at the AN is not separate. Some nude prudes wrap a float raft around their bits for the trip but we don't. Just do it...!
Wow!!! Looks like we have some brave people on the message board...... LoL
It is understandable to be apprehensive at first. I definitely was our first trip. (Wife, not so much. LoL!!)
CA_girl_in_TX said it best. After a day or two you get relaxed and THEN it is no big deal. Also, drinks do help!!! I recommend a Bob Marley.
Have a great trip!
I was so nervous the first time we went to the au naturel beach at CN. It was my husband's idea, not mine. But after a few minutes, I realized that this was a great way to spend the day at the beach. Swimming in the nude is so nice. I don't even pay attention to the people walking on the beach as I walk down to the water. They get embarrassed - not me. I can't wait until our 4th trip back in April - only 281 more days!
