When I first joined the message board I read alot of post about air jamacia and how they would often change your flight at the last minute . And I was wondering does this problem still exist, I mean I know all airlines have their share of problems but it just seemed air jamaica was mentioned alot on this message board and I should like to avoid all unforseen problems when choosing an airline
Air Jamaica was recently taken over by Caribbean Air. Not sure what will happen with that. We have enjoyed a non-stop flight from Balto to MBJ for 9 years. Talk about spoiled !!! We just booked with Air Tran, seems like that is the only direct flight. Air Jamaica has discontinued several flights from various cities, some at a moments notice. I have heard rumors that most of these flights will be resumed once the dust settles. Until then, make sure that you have a "plan B' ready to go !!!!!!!!!!!
You're lucky you still have the option of Air Jamaica. Here in Chicago, Air Jamaica was eliminated so now we only have American Airlines as direct flights!!
We flew AJ on 07/16/10 and the only problem we had was they changed planes from an Airbus 320 to an Airbus 319.
While the 320 is small, the 319 is like a small mini van.
I am 5'10'' and I felt like I was eating my knees the whole flight!
Other than that we left Phialdelphia 15 minuites early, and we left MoBay 10 minutes early.
We are still sticking with AJ. They still offer the best flight times and do not charge for baggage.
we are going in Nov. and we are direct with us 3000 it leaves on sunday and the only bad part you leave the resort about 5-6 on sunday coming back but atleast it is direct.
I believe they're only flying out of Ft Lauderdale, NY, and Philly at this point. We had no trouble in late June with direct flights out of FLL. I understand they are stable now with the new reduced schedules.
