Amazing Week at CSA but be aware of your be

Amazing week at Couples Swept Away. Everything was great until the last day. We had packed all our bags and left our luggage in our room as we had a late check out. We had gone to the beach to enjoy our last few hours. We had returned to our room to change for our flight going home. However, we were surprised to find that our clothing we had left on the chair in our room was gone. When I called the front desk staff they seid someone would deliver our clothing back to our room so we could change. That never happened. I had to walk through the lobby to get our clothes. The housekeeper picked up our loose clothing in our room and placed it in the lost and found. When we retreived our clothing, I had noticed I was missing my NEW bra from Victoria Secret. I had to leave the resort to go to the airport in my bathing suit top. I reported this incident to the front desk staff, hotel manager and security. It was no where to be found. Please be aware... you would think you need to lock your valuables in your safe but I guess you need to lock your underclothing in there as well. So disappointed in how the resort handled this matter!

Wow! That's a first. We've never had anything like that happen in our 18 trips to Couples, but I definitely would not be happy if something similar happened to us.

WOW is right! Sorry this happen to you, but I dont think its the norm. On our first day there we left our safe open ( we didnt close it right totally our fault) with all our money, passports,cell phone, and cerdit cards. When we saw it was open our hearts dropped but NOTHING WAS MISSING NOT EVEN THE CHANGE.

I was under the impression that when you set your bags out to be picked up there should not be anything left in your room because they are going to turn it over for the next guests.

I received a response from CSA. My missing item of clothing was found! Thank you CSA for your quick response.

But seriously, this can serve as a warning that it might be wise to attach a note to your items to notify the housekeepers to leave them in the room.

I have to chime in on this one.....

On our 2nd or 3rd trip to CSA, my DH brought a couple shirts that were, well, let's just say "waving good-bye." and a pair of running shoes that while still in decent condition, weren't so much good for running anymore.

We left them in the room, thinking that the staff could use them.

When we got home, we found that either the bellman or our housekeeper, bless her hardworking heart, had stuffed the things in the top of his suitcase. LOL. So...... they went to Goodwill instead.

We had the same situation once. They made it very clear that we were to pack everything up so the room could be cleaned. We were to have our bags by the door so they were not in the way. That way they could pick them up when they needed to and the room could be cleaned in the mean time. Obviously someone did come in to clean the room or everything would have been left where it was. I am surprised they didn't just set the clothes on top of the suitcases if they were still there. When we switched rooms last time they told us to put our suitcases by the door and leave our things in the safe so when we came back to the room and saw our bags gone we could just grab the stuff from the safe and then get our room keys and switch. We had a few wet shirts hanging on the porch so we left them there with a few other things since it wasn't time to switch yet and when we came back they were gone. We found all but one of them in the new room. They had moved everything early so we weren't quite ready. We never did find the one that was missing but the reaction was the same that time too. They looked for it but said that is why we were asked to make sure everything was either in the safe or in the bags.

Last time we visited CSA, DH accidentally left his wedding band in the safe after we had checked out. The housekeeper came running out with it. She was literally breathless from trying to catch us before we got in the van! I know everyone says Jamaica is a poor country and you have to watch your stuff, but the vibe we got at CSA was totally honest!

We have to agree with the majority of the comments and I'm really glad that they found your item. On our last trip to CSA my wife sat down by the logo shop to wait for me. She left her purse with a fairly large sum of cash, credit cards and her passport in it sitting on the table. We got on the bus for Negril and had left the resort when someone from CSA called the driver of the shuttle and told him it had been found. They then sent the purse with another van (the one that was taking the golfers to the course) and made arrangements to drop it to us at the mall. Everything was still in the purse and they went out of their way to get it to us so that we could still enjoy our shopping tour. The vibe at CSA and in Jamaica is so cool...we love it there.

I have to say I was very impressed with the policy that Couples staff have to return any items they find. I lost a necklace I have worn for years. It was expensive, but had more sentimental value. I figured what the heck I will go to the front deak and ask if anyone found it. The woman took down the description and then looked in a book she had. There is a long list of things that were turned in. Next to each item is the date found and who turned it in. Thanks to Miss Harris my necklace was in an envelope at the lost and found. I thought that was fantastic!

I agree, the last day we were at CSA I accidently left my camera in the internet lounge. I went back and it was gone and I thought for sure I'd never see it again or all my wedding and honeymoon photos Needless to say a worker in the casino saw me upset and asked me if I had left my camera and she told me she had turned it into the front desk. I was so happy but it really made me realize I shouldn't make assumptions about people, especially when we hadn't had any problems with CSA or their staff.

I agree. I trust the staff, it's some of the other guests that would worry me. I think the stuff we lost was just misplaced or dropped on accident. Nobody would steal that junk anyway. When people lose their cameras or phones I always hope an employee finds it rather than a guest because not everyone is so honest. I think some guests don't feel like they have anything to loose by taking lost items like that but the employees value their jobs and like who they work for. It's just not worth it. Plus, 99% of the employees I have met seem to be genuinely driven to help the guests and make people happy.

I have to also agree about the wonderful staff. On our trip last December, I left my diamond stud earrings in the room. Luckily I realized this before we left and asked the frontdesk if I could retrieve them. They got in contact with the housekeeper who said she did not find any earrings. Ofcourse I automatically "assumed" that she had stolen them. This was not the case at all. When I got to the room the earrings were right on the night stand by the phone where I had left them. The staff at these resorts are honest hard working people and if Couples finds out otherwise they are quick to release them.
