Bad Weather in Jamaca about Over???

You may have seen my comments about bad weather here in other posts from me this morning. The forcasst is for sunny and back up into the eighties in a couple days! WooHoo!!!

Thank goodness! I just had a text from friends of ours that are at CTi, they arrived on Friday. They were going to the beach party tonight that had been moved indoors and wearing sweaters! They said they have not seen the sun yet!

Tuesday morning update: Cloudy and raining! RATS!!!

OK, please tell me it is not really cold. We are packed and heading out tonight and I don't thnk we brought a single long sleeve shirt, let alone sweaters. Do I need to repack? We'll be at CN for 10 nights.

aerotd - even with great weather, the Piano Bar and Internet Cafe are usually really cold, so you might want to throw in a light sweater or at least 1 warmer shirt. 10 nights will be totally awesome, lucky!!

Tuesday Afternoon Update: Mostly sunny and hot. Still very windy, big waves, no watersports, a lot of seaweed on the beach (but just near the ocean, not hampering laying out). Guests are pulling huge starfish out of the ocean right up at the shoreline! Probably a foot or more across. Don't worry, they are taking pictures and then putting them right back!!

NOOOO!!! Please tell me this storm or whatever it is is going away soon. This entire trip is planned around the diving and if watersports are closed we will be very unhappy. I'm beginning to wish we had stayed with our original dates and not tried January.

What is the ocean temp like? I have heard that water temps in Florida are well below normal due to the cold we have been having in the US.

Wednesday Morning Update: Cloudy and cool (70), but no rain. Still windy and no water sports today. Still big waves here at Negril. The Cat Cruise is still going out, but not much else. They keep predicting the end is near....but we haven't seen it yet. Yesterday afternoon was the best day yet in the week we've been here. Let's hope the clouds clear and it gets hot again this afternoon like it did yesterday.

Ocean temperature? Not sure if it's normal or not, but it is plenty warm enough to go into. Kind of fun playing in the big waves.

But...don't worry too much...it is not by any means spoiling our vacation. It is still shorts weather and this is a Coulpes resort!!! Having a great time here. Off to Tower Isle on Friday!!!

By the way, we did not feel the earthquake yesterday.

Our friends KAREN and DOUG from CANADA are at CN right now. They will be scuba diving (weather permitting) everyday so if you see them in the hot tub - take them a drink from the bar.

Wednesday Noon Update: I am sorry to have to inform you that it is overcast and raining here now. Light rain, but enough to break out the umbrella for the first time in a week. It really has only rained overnight and not during the days. Light drizzle on some days, but no real rain.

The wind seams to be down now. The watersports guys said there will be no glass bottom boat tomorrow because the water will still be too cloudy. They may have snorkeling tomorrow.

Sorry to hear the weather hasn't cleared up yet. We were at CTI for our first time January 4 to 11th and it rained at some point every day and was cloudy and usually very breezy. We had about 3/4 of a day that was sunny and we could do watersports and the island was used. Hope your weather improves soon!

Wednesday Evening Update: Sun came out at 12:45 PM and then raining again at 1:00 PM. More and more sun (not much) throughout the afternoon until about 4:00 or 4:30 when it came out and stayed out for a gorgeous sunset!! No wind tonight. Let's hope the cloudyness is over for our last day here tomorrow.!!!

Wally, isn't the weather glorious today? FINALLY!! Take care of yourself...ask the dining room staff to make you some fresh ginger tea with honey (I KNOW there's fresh ginger in the kitchen).....have them brew it strong enough to burn a bit. Eat as much hot sauce as you can on anything and everything. You'll wake up tomorrow with not a shred of anything to slow you down.

It rained a lot our last trip (Feb 2009). The staff says that when we have cold weather in the US, a few days later it rains in Jamaica. Not a weatherman, can't explain it, but everyone assured us this is what happens.

It looks like the bad weather streak is ending. Today was warm and partly cloudy at CTI, but with a lot of wind that kept the red flag up. Tonight the wind is dead calm. With any luck, thiegs will be back to normal in the morning.
