Sure do. You can even get Clamato in your mini-bar in the room.
That's great news - thanks for your reply![]()
When I was there in August, they never seemed to have Clamato at the bars when I ordered a Caeser. I brought my own clamato down from my room (mini bar), and asked the bar tenders to make me a caeser with it.
No problem! The breakfast buffet includes a "make your own bloody mary" bar at the end of the bar. I think they only have tomato juice, but you can get Clamato from the bartender or just bring it down from your room. Enjoy!
ha ha..the first time I read this I was thinking..why does person care if there is cesar salads so much to ask??? duh...my bad!
I'd like to take this opportunity to "blame Canada" for my latest drink addiction. I'm at nearly a Caesar a day, thanks to you crazy Canucks.
I'm 'blaming' the canadians too! Having discovered bloody casears on this mesasge board I then found Clamato juice in my local supermarket in England. To top things off I then had to change my pre check in for CSA & CN to include Clamato juice in my mini bar LOL!
7 days to CSA & CN - woo hoo!!
What's in a Caesar? I've never heard of it.
KrisJamie - I have to say that having a caeser addiction is a wonderful thing
I hope it isn't like Couples Sans Souci where the bars NEVER had clamato juice stocked - I could never understand why I had to cart down the ones from my room every day. Maybe I will send a pleasant reminder to Randy.![]()
Its just a Bloody Mary with Clamato instead of tomato juice. Not sure what the Canadian connection is, though. I bartended 12 years ago in college in Lincoln, NE, and we made them all the time. We called them "Bloody with Clamato".
CTI was hit or miss as to having it behind the bar, but the wonderful bar staff always was able to find some if we wanted to indulge our latest addiction.
A Caesar or Bloody Caesar is a cocktail created and primarily consumed in Canada. It typically contains vodka, Clamato (a proprietary blend of tomato juice and clam broth), hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce, and is served with ice in a large, celery salt-rimmed glass, typically garnished with a stalk of celery and wedge of lime.
It was invented in Calgary, Alberta in 1969 by restaurateur Walter Chell to celebrate the opening of a new Italian restaurant in the city. It quickly became a popular mixed drink, but remains virtually unknown outside Canada. It is claimed that over 350 million Caesars are consumed in Canada annually, and it has inspired numerous variants.
That is the Canadian connection we own it PLUS it is in MHO 2,020 times better at clearing out the cobwebs after a rum squall than any other Sunday morning cure. Also good with a bit of hot horse radish and a dill pickle or dilled green bean mc
Bloody Caeser is made with vodka and clamato juice and.......................
lime juice, lemon juice, fresh lemon, fresh lime, caeser seasonings, pickled onions, olives, tabasco sauce and worchestershire sauce
Well, there's the Canadian connectionAnd, like I said, it's a Bloody Mary with Clamato, instead of straight tomato juice. The Bloody Mary was invented in New York by Lucius Beebe in 1939. Substitute Clamato and you have a Bloody Caesar. (I like the Wikipedia reference)
And as for clearing the cobwebs, I totally agree. It's got everything... vitamins, water, electrolytes, and, most importantly, VODKA!

awesome description... so good, in fact, that Wikipedia stole it!
I don't really understand savory drinks, but this one might be worth trying!
Get one into ya lad it does a body good. ( liver and other interior parts all depends on volume) Oh yeah thanks Wikipedia for the reference and thanks Walter for such a wonderous creation and Motts which is an American company for keeping it such a secret. Enjoy mc
Dank120 I hate to disagree but a Ceaser is far superior to any Bloody Mary hands down and yes they do contain the most important vitamin to be taken the morning after the night before Vitamin V and thanks to Wikipedia Take Care mc
Disagree? I actually prefer my Bloody Marys with Clamato. It's the only way I've made my Bloodys since '99. We also use Clamato for our red beers. I'm sure you have had some crappy Bloody Marys too. We all have! If it's not made from scratch, but from that pre-made mix, it's usually nasty anyway. As in cooking, fresh ingredients make all the difference. But, when it comes down to it, the only difference in ingredients is a splash of clam juice, which is the basic difference between Clamato and tomato juice.
Here's my homemade recipe for a Bloody Mary/Caesar:
In a shaker,
Ice Cubes
1-1/2 oz vodka (or more!)
3 healthy splashes worcestershire
1 heaping tsp ground horseradish (tablespoon, if you really like horseradish)
1/8 tsp celery salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
3 dashes favorite hot sauce (try Walkerswood fire stick from Jamaica)
Squeeze of 1 lime wedge
Squeeze of 1 lemon wedge
Top off with 3-4 oz tomato juice (Bloody Mary) or Clamato (Caesar)
Shake ingredients to chill, then pour into a kosher or celery salt-rimmed pint glass.
Garnish with any or all of the following:
Celery stalk
Green olive
Pickle
Cocktail onion
Pickled green bean
Pickled asparagus
Pickled banana pepper
Green or red bell pepper strip
Lime wedge
Lemon wedge
Either way is a great drink, but the clam juice (in the Clamato) really sets it off and compliments well with the horseradish and citrus juices, almost creating a savory shrimp cocktail-like drink. Enjoy!

I buy the ready to drink coolers - less hassle mixing them on our houseboat
I enjoy the Smirnoff variety far better than the Motts. Absolutely yummy once I had my extra fixings. Can't beat it, eh?![]()
Sub Grace's Pepper sauce for worcestershire, and Grace's hot for the hot sauce...Jamaican Bloody Caesar.(not officially, but this is how I'm loving mine)
I always put salt and pepper in mine. Very surprised with all the other canucks who don't. Only saw one that mentioned pepper. Try the salt and pepper next time .............. Yummy!!!

Hi everyone, just arrived at CSA and had my first Jamaican bloody Caesar on the beach yesterday. At the beach bar they have a pre mixed hot sauce which they put in the drink to spice it up. OMG, it nearly blew my head off!
BTW, weather fantastic and food as good as ever. Looking forward to transferring to Couples Negril on Tuesday.
Oh, definitely put the salt and pepper - just forgot to mention that ingredient - good shake of each! - yummo!
pharma girl - hope the caesers are plentiful at Couples Negril cause I will be there in 20 sleeps![]()
