Hello, wondering if you have this option if the weather is forecast to be bad in one area but nice in another. Next weeks long range is not looking attractive. Has anyone switched? If so, how did it go? Thanks.

I wouldn't worry about the weather forecast. It almost always shows rain! It is a tropical region after all! Most times you might get a mid-day shower, usually doesn't last too long.
The weather will nearly always show rain...it's the tropics.
Don't sweat the forecast and realize that Negril isn't that far away and sees the same sort of weather.

Since the Negril resorts are usually booked to capacity, I would say your chances of switching are slim.

Agree with Ton-n-Lori, stop watching the forecasts. We've made 15 trips to Jamaica and I learned a long time ago that the weather reports will always say it's gonna rain, we only got full rainy days one year when a hurricane was approaching and that had nothing to do with those reports I'd been watching all those weeks. IF you get rain it will be as was noted, a short shower in the afternoon. It's always warm in Jamaica so many folks will stay outside anyway. If you don't want to stay outside then head to a covered bar, go back to your room, sit on the balcony or whatever but there is always something to do. Unless there is a real storm you aren't going to get rained out.
As far as "switching"...no. A reservation is a reservation. If you are that concerned then you should cancel your reservation now and choose and rebook a different resort. It's not like you can just change your mind last minute and go somewhere else. Each resort takes reservations as a separate entity so to just "switch" isn't as easy as it may seem. Even though they are all owned by Couples they are still operating as separate resorts.
When we were at CSA in late Jan/early Feb we were told that CSA was booked solid through April. Could very well be the same for CN.
The weather can be quite different in Negril than it is in Ochi. Negril faces due west, while Ochi is on the north coast. Although it is a relatively small island, the weather patterns can and do differ. It can be bright sunshine all day in Negril while it's raining in Ochi and vice versa.
