Default CN - Best suggestion for a b-day celebration?

Heading to CN for the first time to celebrate a b-day. For all the repeaters, what do you suggest for celebrating in the evening? Ordering a cake at one of the restaurants there - if so, is there one better for special occasions? Would you recommend the private beach dinner CN offers? Venturing to Rick's Cafe? Any suggestions would be helpful - thanks so much!

    Hi summer0250,

We celebrate our friend Jim's birthday every December at CN. We've done the birthday cake ($25) and the decorated plate at dessert (free). Both of these can be arranged at guest services. We've had the beach singers come up and sing happy birthday. This year, we decorated his lounger with easy-to-pack mylar, and made him wear a big birthday button all day.

Actually, you could go to Rick's Cafe to watch some cliff diving, live music and a beautiful sunset, and then have a private dinner in the treehouse with a birthday cake and then watch and dance to the live entertainment at the Cassava Terrace and then venture to the piano bar and boggie late onto the night. You could do all of that in one night, and on any day of the week your birthday happens to fall on!

If you're there for a minimum stay of a week, you can do all of what you suggested....one per night. Returning to CN for wife's upcoming birthday in June, and will be doing the same. Do it all.

Two options that come to mind....have a dinner at Otihiete(sp) which is a fancy restaurant that has intimate tables for two or schedule the private dinner in the treehouse. Either sounds like a hit to me!

My wife and I have been going to Negril for the past 25 or more years and whenever we are there for a special event (Birthday or Anniversary) we make a reservation for a dinner at Rockhouse Hotel on the cliffs. We check and see what time sunset will be during our stay and plan it for just before that. If you make a reservation Rockhouse will pick you up for free from the resort. The trip back to the resort later is not free, but you can negotiate a price that is workable for you. Dinner at Rockhouse is awesome at sunset!
    Enjoy!
