Connecting flight

We will be leaving for CN 2 weeks from today...YAY! This will be our 4th trip to the island, but the first to CN. Excitement is an understatement!

Normally we fly non-stop out of DFW, but this trip involves a connection in Memphis and we are flying Delta. When we land in Memphis, will we have to retrieve our bags and re-check them for the flight to Jamaica? Thanks in advance!

No, once you check them in DFW, they are checked straight to Montego. However, it's on the way back, that if you have a connection, the first place you land in the US will be where you retrieve your bags, go through customs and then re-check for the next flight.

Not on the way there... You will have to do that on the way back, though, if you have a connection.

It is just the same as DFW.

I love the Memphis airport, it is one of the best in the country. It is a little run down and out dated, but it is not as busy, and there are places to get really good food.

Thanks for the info...just wanted to make sure I have all my ducks in a row. Yes, we do have a connecting return flight and there is about a 3 hour delay between connections. I was worried initially about having enough time to go and get our bags and re-check them. Shouldn't be a problem, though......

Ditto on the food at the Memphis airport. If you have time be sure and try the BBQ ribs!
