Couples Barbados Update. Done Deal!

Randy~ Will the rates for 2013 be posted soon? You posted a few days ago that they would be made available in 24hrs and my fingers are starting to hurt keeping them crossed this long hoping that the"phenomenal introductory offer" will make a spring/summer trip possible! If I misread your post please let me know so I can regain the use of my hands. :)

To answer questions about diving: Yes we will include one dive per couple per stay for PADI certified divers only. At least in the beginning, we will be contracting with an outside dive company and the costs are very expensive. MAYBE down the road will we consider our own dive boat.

We are also VERY excited about Couples expanding into Barbados. We always wanted to travel here but there was not a "Couples Resort" but now....things are about to change!. Congratulations!!! Like everyone else, we are looking forward to information on the new resort along w/rates, etc.

I just read that when the Barbados "Couples" opens there will only be one dive per couple per stay. The reason being that "Couples" will not have their own dive boat. We have been to Barbados many times. In fact we are going next month for 4 weeks. We know that scuba diving is very expensive there. We were delightd when we heard that "Couples" was opening a club in Barbados. I have a couple of questions. I do not dive so can my husband get a free dive in my place? We always go for 2 weeks to "Couples". Could the rule not be changed to one dive per week instead of one dive per stay? We love our vacations at Couples because of the staff, premium drinks and food but one of the main reasons is the free diving. Please reply Randy. Thank you

Patiently waiting for the rates. My husband was lucky enough to win 3 nights at this resort in the golf tournament at CTI on Sunday. We are very excited. Hope to go in October.

It is now after 7 pm in Toronto. Could not find any rates for Barbados on the Internet or message board. Did find rates from Gatwick with Bestattravel giving a 40% discount in August. Hopefully rates will be showing soon.

Thanks for the update about the diving. 1 dive, or 1 2-tank dive day? Anyway... Not a deal breaker. Although we love to dive at Couples, too much diving can eat into the beach time ;)
I do like the idea posted above hoping for one per week for those of us who stay longer.

It's a huge disappointment that diving will not be part of the inclusions at Couples Barbados. It's such a disappointment, in fact, that we will not be visiting the resort until that changes. The diving is one of the main reasons we have come to love the Couples brand. Hopefully that will change soon...

I agree with justgivemethebeach about the diving!! It is a DEAL BREAKER for me . No diving no Couples Barbados for me !!!!

Thank you for the pre information on the diving. Since there is only one dive free per holiday at the moment maybe, Couples could post a dive operator and price list that they might recommend for us who would like to dive everyday while we are staying at Couples Barbados. Shame to hall all our gear for 1 dive.
