Couples "Newbie" Anyone else who had visited Negril previously then stayed at CN?

This is my first post on this message board and in April will be our first time to stay at a Couples Resort. I am curious about something and was wondering if I could ask for feedback from the many repeat Couples visitors on this board.

Had anyone else ever been to Negril several times and then stayed at CN or CSA for the first time and got hooked? If so, how did the Couples experience change your overall experience in Negril? If so, what was different about your Couples experience compared to your first visits to Negril?

I have really enjoyed reading all the wonderful stories about Couples. It just sounds like a wonderful place to stay. We are so excited to go back to Negril. We truly love it there. It sounds like our experience at Couples may even add to our already existing addiction to Negril.

I stayed at quite a few places before finding CSA. I enjoy the cliffs as well as the beach and since 1974 have stayed in places ranging from budget to luxury. This list includes RockHouse, Charela Inn, Footeprints, Negril Gardens, Grand Lido, Negril Tree House and more.

I stayed at Swept Away the first year it opened and loved it for the peace and quiet, the fitness facilities, the beach and the rooms and the grounds. Then Couples rebranded it and I could no longer stay there as was not a couple (they did have singles weeks but I cannot recall if that was before or after the rebranding).

When I got married in 2005, I very much looked forward to getting back to CSA. My husband was not a fan of Jamaica based on a cruise ship stop in Ochi but I surprised him with a short stay at CSA for his birthday last year so he had to go :-).

He loved it as much as I do. We are headed back in March and cannot wait.

So while this is not a CN story, it is a Couples story.

I like the cliffs too. I am really looking forward to this trip because of all of the positive comments I have read about Couples. Maybe once we stay with Couples, we will never want to stay anywhere else on our trips to Negril.

It is to the point that we have trouble wanting to go to any other destination for our vacations. Just love Jamaica and the people. I stopped once on a cruise ship visit to Mo Bay. It is just so not the same, so I am so glad to hear that your hubby was able to experience more of what Jamaica is really like!

We had stayed in Negril 3 times at 2 different AI resorts when we tried CSA in 2003 & loved it. The next year, we tried CN & LOVED it MORE. We have now been to CN 4 times & last May did the Couples SR & went to CSS. CSA & CSS were great but you can't top CN as far as we are concerned. Once we found Couples, we've never looked back. Can't really explain the difference ........ once you go, you know .......... is about all I can say. It's just "paradise". Total relaxation.

We stayed in Negril several times before trying CN. Now we will only stay at Couples resorts when traveling without the kids. CN provides everything you need. If you scuba couples is a great value for a dive trip. And the Negril atmosphere is multiplied expedentially at CN and CSA. Unless you want to go on day trips off the resort you really won't need to spend more than what the trip cost. Have fun, I'm sure you'll love it.

Our first visit to Negril was two years ago and on advice from my borther-in-law we tried both Rockhouse and Couples Negril. We stayed only 5 night at Couples so when we returned last summer we stayed 7 since we enjoyed it so much and just a few at the Caves. This year we can only get away for a week - so we are spending it all at Couples Negril. Next trip - we are already talking about trying another Couples Resort - CSS - maybe or splitting our trip again between cliffs and CN! We love Cn - it was so magical the first time we went - it keeps calling us back.....
