Default Couples withdraw--how to bring it home??

This time last year we were packing for our first trip to Couples Negril to celebrate one year of wedded bliss. Little did we know that we were in for the best vacation of our lives! Unfortunately, a return trip was not in the budget this year, and now I am officially suffering from "Couples Withdraw". Since we will not be able to experience the real beauty and bliss of Couples Negril on our anniversary this year, I need some ideas of how we can bring Couples to our home. I am going to make dirty banana's, play some hook line and sinker by Ancel and periodically yell out "cigaretttteeesssss, cigars cigars cigars, it's gonna be HOT HOT HOT".....but what else can I do to at least pretend like we are celebrating in the pure paradise that Couples Negril is?

Don't forget to play bob marley and answer everything with no problem mon. Also make your husband refer to you as mi lady. Have a pina colada for me!

Throw up a red flag when your drink is empty! Soft steel drum music in background. Say "ya, mon" a lot!! We too are having withdrawls. We were there this time last year. We are not able to go this year, but have been planning a return trip for the same time next year. I tend to cook a lot more Caribbean style foods than I ever have eaten in my entire life. Jerk chicken and Caribbean rice have become a staple at our house.

Thanks for the video, Joe. It's fantastic .

However, instead of curing my withdraws it makes me miss it even more!!! Ahhh... maybe next year.

    Funny you should ask...

Don't let your spouse know...bring into the living room 2 lounge chairs with towels on them (obviously the furniture will need to be pushed back) between the chairs you'll place your bucket of Red Stripe with ice. (the red flag did sound great, but we don't have any hired help)If you have recessed lights they will be the sun pouring down on you. You'll need to get a music station (we like Jimmy Buffett) of course tan lotion, then depends on AN or textile. You could make a Hummingbird or the like...really good for a quickie, trip in your mind I mean.

We go to a little Jamaican restaurant here in Orangeville Ontario every week. They play "BOB" music, we eat jerk chicken, roti, ackee cups and drink Ting. Everyone says "Ya Mon" a lot too. It's strange that we don't eat Jamaican food in Jamaica but we sure enjoy it at home!

You guys are good! At this rate, we'll be "back in Jamaica" in no time. And how did I forget about TING... only one of the best drinks ever! Ting and absolut citron... that was ONE of my favorite drinks while there!

I say ....Don't.... the joy of going to CSA (& the other resorts) is that it's diffrent from the rest of the year. That said I make a mean Jerk sauce!

Unfortunately, one of the sounds of SweptAway is no more. I have word from a friend who'd been there in late May that the jokester who made his way up and down the beach by foot, boat and car with his megaphone hawking the beach shows with his trademark "HOT, HOT, HOT" succumbed to throat cancer recently.

I forget the late gentleman's name, but given the opportunity, he would use his "radio voice" to tell the most gawdawful jokes... but he delivered them in his cadence that was funny in its own way. The sound of his voice along Seven Mile Beach will be missed... RIP.
