Does anyone know why it costs more to stay at CSA vs. any other couples resort ? Even vs. CN it's more but they're in the same city. I didn't see that addressed anywhere in the comparison threads and it's something I wondered about....

    Any opinions on that ??

I have to agree with all the pros about CSA. My top three are: The Beach, The Staff, The Food. My big con is that that there is no Red Stripe in the mini bar. That doesn't seem like a hard thing to do.

We were at CSA in March and would say..

Pros 1. The beach, best one I have seen yet!
    2. The food, very yummy!
    3. how much water sports is included (cat cruise and snorkelling)

    Cons
    1. The rooms are dated and bathrooms need updating
    2. Room service for more than just breakfast would be nice.
    3. Having a towel return hut in the middle of the resort. ( May sound silly but believe me we were at the opposite end of the resort and it's a looooooong walk there and back to your room just for a clean towel.)

Otherwise we loved CSA. I would go back to Negril just for the beach alone, it was stunning as was the sunsets!

Here are my Pros & Cons:
    Pros:
    1. Cozy Verandah rooms that have a condo feel to them (not a big fan of hotels),
    2. Long beach for walking before breakfast,
    3. Beautiful grounds to walk through getting to and from the restaurants,
    4. Variety of good food at numerous locations,
    5. Spa/Sports complex is fantastic,
    6. Ultimate Chocolate playing piano in the Aura Lounge.
    Cons:
    1. Spreadout grounds that could be tough on older people who like hotels,
    2. Beach is kinda narrow,
    3. Except for the continental breakfast room service there's no real food until around 8 am,
    4. Wasn't really a big fan of the food at the Beach Party Friday night but I didn't go hungry,
    5. The water sports crew wouldn't let us take out a big Hobie cat alone.
You're so right that I did have to stretch for some Cons but no vacation is ever totally perfect. Enjoy your time in Paradise, aka CSA!
We were allowed to take a big one alone. Did they say why they wouldn't allow it? Sometimes the wind is blowing in the wrong direction or the water is too choppy.

Instead of pros and cons, since there are few real cons, this thread would work better as...Couples Swept Away would be perfect if only...? Some tweaks needed here and there but who among us is perfect? We are in our little paradise when here though. Time to put up my drink flag. Ahhhhhhh...

Please CSA....let us return the beach towels and get new ones in our room or at the south end also. Thanks!

Just a guess, but I am thinking "supply and demand". It is the "most" requested of the resorts.

We just returned from CSA and used our previous trip to CTI for comparison:

    Biggest Pros:
    - beautiful, long beach and warm, clear water (it looked like you are in a swimming pool, and we thought it was comparable to water visibility in Hawaii)
    - unlimited scuba diving and use of equipment with knowledgeable and patient dive staff
    - variety of excellent dining options
    - variety of facilities and activities offered at sports complex

    Cons:
    - the buffet food at the Palms was not as good as at CTI, and menu didn't change much. Dinner here was the worst in terms of service and food quality, but that's our personal opinion.
    - food at Lemongrass and Patois was good, but they're both open air and it was very warm at night which detracted from our dining experience (and we're used to hot and humid weather). We would get dressed up for dinner, only to want another shower immediately after dinner. I strongly suggest packing lightweight clothes that "breathe" well.
    - atrium suites let in a lot of noise even when all shutters are closed, which may be annoying if you're closer to the road or like to sleep in
    - evening entertainment can be lackluster, but we go to Couples for relaxation so this isn't an issue for us

Those were our biggest complaints, but all the amazing things about CSA far outweigh the little things we could find to nitpick about. We would love to come back as soon as possible, and this has been our favorite Couples resort so far (haven't been to CN yet, but went to their beach a couple of times on this trip and the beach seems smaller and rooms more hotel-like than at CSA).

I've only stayed at CSA, but the dive boat took us to CN a couple of times during our recent trip. If I had to guess, I'd say it's because CSA's beach is a lot longer and it has a bigger variety of rooms. From what I could see, the rooms at CN were 3 story buildings similar to hotel rooms. CSA has beachfront suites, atrium rooms, and a section of newer rooms.
