CSA vs. CN

Okay to all of my Couples friends those of you who have been to CSA and CN which did you love more? I know, I know this is a tough question because I would assume all are amazing! However I just can't make up my mind which one would make the best honeymoon. I originally wanted to do 12 night and split the time between the two but not too sure if our budget will allow for that so if you had to pick between the two resorts which one would you choose and why?? Also one more question which room did you stay in and would you have a recommendation on any honeymoon must haves or most do's?

P.S.~ My soon to be hubby and I have been to CSS where he proposed on the beach :) And we absolutely loved it! However for our honeymoon I would love to have the waters and long beaches of CN and CSA.

Here's our view from csa, beachfront veranda suite 4122 and one of the friendly bartenders at the Bamboo beach bar just steps from our veranda. We love csa the most, trip #5 booked for April. We love the freedom to roan seven mile beach to go shopping and exploring and the wide variety of restaurant choices. Good luck deciding. The beach is world class at csa!

We just did a CN/CSA split this past August. 5 nights at CN in a Beachfront Suite and 7 nights at CSA where we started out in a Beach Front Veranda Suite and moved to a Great House Jacuzzi Suite because we were so disappointed in the BFVS.

We have also stayed in the Garden View rooms at CN on a previous visit in building 3 by the tennis courts/road. This stay is the reason we began to upgrade rooms when we vacation. The road noise was pretty annoying for this country girl.

We have also been to CTI which we LOVED! The only Couples we have not been to yet is CSS.

We love CN over CSA hands down. The atmosphere at CN is much more intimate, romantic and relaxing IMO. Then we found the overall service to be a notch above CSA in just about all areas. We had nothing but issues at CSA when it came to in room bar service, maintenance and as stated before the room was a big disappointment.

Within being on the property for 24 hours at CSA we both said we wished we had just stayed at CN. When we asked to go back to CN they did try to accommodate us but they didn't have the room category we had booked. Luckily on day 4 the front office manager came back to work and did move us to the Great House Jacuzzi Suite. This room was beautiful but still had some maintenance issues that they cold not seem to get fixed.

The food at both resorts was spot on but CN did prepare their steaks nicer.

Either resort will be perfect but for US CN has the edge simply for ambiance, service and over all romance. CSA is just another resort like any other we had been to numerous times.

CSA has the ultimate beach! I would definitely choose CSA. If you are able to split the time the great thing is they are so close the ride is easy. We are trying CSS next year for 7 nights then over to CSA for 8. I am truly hoping CSS is as nice as they say but I may miss the beach action! Have a great trip!

My vote again is for CSA. I thought the entertainment was better, and the resort was more lively at night. We stayed in a Garden Verandah and found it too close to the road. The closer to the beach the better if you can afford it. Good luck in choosing. Either way , its a win, win.

I've been to both and personally I'd say CN... I loved the compact feel of the resort, and the entertainment coordinators seemed more engaged and involved. I also LOVED the pool bar, and I think they had better jerk patties :) We were in building 5, I think? We loved it there.

My husband and I have stayed at Towers and Sans Souci a couple times. This time we are headed to Negril, the beach there appears beautiful. We both enjoyed both other places but alot of up and down @ San Souci. We have had a beach front room there and loved it, how ever alot of traffic in the evening and mornings w/the staff rolling stuff on by to get ready for the day. Towers was nice , rooms are a little smaller there. Looking forward to Negril , read a lot about it and ready for a change. ANY of the places you stay at Couples will be a great time, staff are all wonderful :) Happy Honey Mooning to you and your hubby!

We just returned from CSA (second time) and have also been to CN and CTI several times. Each has a very different feel. You are correct that the beaches at the two Negril resorts are superior to those in Ocho Rios. I believe that the food and service are very close and just a matter of individual taste. CSA is more lush and the setup of the individual suites has a more tropical feeling.The big difference for us is the participation in the activities - volleyball, ping-pong, tennis, shows, etc. In this category, CN has FAR more participation. Perhaps it was just when we have been there, but there seems to be a more laid back attitude at CSA where people at CN are much more involved in the activities. So the choice is not of one being better than the other, but whether you are looking for relaxation versus activities.

As I said earlier I have only been to CSS never to CSA so I will not be able to tell you that you will like one over the other. However we had a very lovely trip at CSS I am going to assume that you might be a little bummed with the beach because it is small but still very beautiful. The grounds at CSS are to die for!! You will be overwhelmed by all the stairs at first but with all of the beauty around you, you won't mind a bit. (Oh and with all the wonderful food I was very happy for the daily workout) There are not as many restaurant choices as CSS as I saw there are at CSA but we enjoyed every meal we had there.....you must do room service at least once! The mineral pool was my go to spot in the morning...it is very relaxing and about 8 to 10 there are not too many people and it is very easy to get a chair. Then around ten they open up the smoothie bar which in my opinion is a everyday must! If you are planning on getting a massage while there I do suggest doing it right by the waterfall. We did two couples massages while there on in the "hide away" and the other down by the waterfall. While the hide away was very nice we kind of wished we would have done both down by the waterfall (just make sure you schedule them in the morning like 8-9am) Any later you will run into some exercise class noise and that wouldn't be my cup of tea. Well I think I have talked up CSS enough for one day :) I hope you have a wonderful trip, but then I can't see a bad trip happening when staying with Couples!

Another vote for CN. We just got back from our first stay at CSA and it is nice but we prefer CN because of the central location of everything and I actually think we prefer the beach/water at CN over CSA. You can't go wrong at either one though.

The deep beach at CN blows aways the long narrow beeach at CSA.

-------I don't want to start anything here, but want to point out the comment here and the in note below. With the attempt to buy a competitors property, I don't know how that will work, but I would say most of us LOVE the small, intimate atmosphere of CN. That is what we love about it and the reason we can't even bring ourselves to try CSA, which I would LOVE to try. I hope if the purchase goes through, it is considered seriously how to intermingle, as we would hate to lose the small, close intimate setting of CN.

We just returned from our first trip to CSA after 4 trips to CN, the most recent being in February of this year. We love CN but for our 40th anniversary wanted to try CSA. After returning home and driving from the airport we discussed which one we liked best and in all honesty it came down to our hearts. The only 2 things I really did not like about CSA was so trivial that it did not matter and my wifes was almost the same way. We both agreed that we liked the Piano bar better at CN simply because we love Paul Tucker, trivial to others. I did not like the arrangement of the buffet at CSA compared to CN, again a trivial matter. My wife thought some of the staff was not as friendly at CSA as they were at CN. Not so trivial but something we both agreed could have been caused by the fact Hurricane Sandy had just happened the day we were to arrive, we arrived 2 days later because of it. We both loved our room location better (room layout or size means nothing to us), I loved the fact there were several beach bars to choose from, we both loved Sea Grapes and the sports Smoothie bar. We talked in great length, well at least for the 45 minute drive, and what we really decided was, next year we are going to go for a slightly longer period of time and do a split. We will stay at least 7 nights at CN and then another 5 to 7 nights at CSA. We love the beach and coziness of CN but we also like the room and its location on CSA so we will do both. Wish we were there now as the time went so quickly after losing those 2 days. By the way, we get a credit from couples for those days so they will get used next year.

That palapa is where we sat most days ( when we could get it,otherwise it was under the almond tree). And aww were.. Sweet Romaine.... Such a doll... He and Lucien were the best!

We went to CSA after a 2nd stay at CN the year befor, and back to back stays at CTI (before and after the remodel) we absolultely fell in love with the romance and relaxation at CSA!
The CN atmosphere is busy... Beach volleyball, casino, auctions, pool games...all of which we participated in and enjoyed.
From the lush grounds, the Atrium suite with the sound of the treefrogs and surf lapping from the verandah, to the long narrow beach for a cool off before a smoothie at SeaGrape, it was a no brainer for us to choose CSA for our next trip!

CN has my vote...
CSA didn't have towels when we got to the beach. It took over 10 minutes to get 2 towels.
I am totally biased though, we were married at CN two years ago and just got back from our second trip a few days ago...

CSA all the way for me. I liked their relaxed and romantic vibe, the beach bars, the Atrium Suites, the way the resort is spread out, and most of all.....the healthy and delicious food at Seagrapes!! CN was too cramped and chaotic for me, although I DID love their au natural area. If CSA could just add one of those....I would go there every year for the rest of my life!

It's CN for us. Our first Couples trip was to CSS, then to CSA, then to CN. We have been to CN 4 times in a row, once every 6 months, with another in May/June of 2013. We will be going to CSA next December for my parents' 50th anniversary vow renewal. That said, we love them both, but CN is still our favorite. We like the wide beach, there is never an issue with getting a beach chair, the resort is smaller and therefore more social. We absolutely love the staff at CN. To us, while CSA is awesome in it's own way, we feel that CN is just slightly more suited to us. It also doesn't hurt that there was Red Stripe in our mini bar last time :-)
