CSS review

We stayed at CSS from 9/30 to 10/8. It was our fourth Couples and third CSS visit. As usual, everything was the same as before, friendly workers and superb food. Had some rain in afternoon and evenings on several days, but overall enjoyed the activities and spas. Every morning was bright blue sky, so we made sure we did activities in the morning in case it rained later that day.

One bright note which I believe makes Couples employees special is when we took the van from the front lobby during a rain to our room. As my wife got out of the van, she slipped and fell. I helped her up and waved to the driver that she was ok. When we got to room, she noticed she bruised her palm and elbow. Was she was washing the bruises, the phone rang and it was the front desk asking about the incident. They sent the nurse down to put cream and bandaids on the bruises. Now the driver did not have to say anything, but apparently he was concerned. This is what I believe what separates Couples employees from other resorts.

We were there for 2 Friday galas. 1st one was excellent, the second was rained out and they had it at the Pallazina. They were setting up the outdoor tables and chairs all morning and then it started to raing in the afternoon. It appeared by 5 PM, it was decided to move indoors and the workers who stopped during the raing began the move indoors during the rain. It was too bad as they went and did all the work for outdoors. By having it at Pallazina, it did take some of the eloquence from the gala. It had the feeling more of a smorgasbord and a lot of people left after eating.


Now one more item of irritation which had nothing to do with Couples. As flying over 20 years to US and Caribbean, we never had any issues with luggage. This year USAir outdid themselves. Luggage from layover to Jamaica in Chalotte missed connection, even tho our flight was 20 min early, and we had to wear the same clothes from 4AM Friday until 10PM Friday before our luggage showed up. Fortunately, we packed our bathing suits on carryon, but after spending afternoon at beach, we cleaned up for the Gala and had to put these clothes back on. (Ugh) This isn't all, on way back home thru Charlotte, after checking thru custom and rechecking luggage, it missed our plane, even tho I told them our flight leaves in 40 min. Luggage was delived the next afternoon to our house.

Hi Rich, thanks for the review! Sounds like your wife didn't get too hurt. The kindness of the Couples staff is always so lovely.

We're headed to CSS for the first time this March. 3 trips to CN and 1 to CSA. Looking forward to the excitement of a new resort!!!
