How is the shopping trip to Soni's Plaza?? I've been on the shopping trip to Ocho Rios before. The days we're going this time will not allow us to take the trip. Do you think the resort will make an exception and take us (five couples)????

The resort will definitely arrange for a taxi for 5 couples, but you will probably have to pay for it.

However, we skip the actual shopping trip into Ocho Rios and instead shop at the craft market across the street and the potter up the road.

Do the local shops accept USD or do you have to convert to Jamaican currency?

Personally, I wouldn't waste my time. We (like Amy) cross the street for the vendors. We buy all our souvenirs at either the gift shop or at the airport. I hope your trip is amazing

Last I heard the craft market that used to be across the street by the tennis courts is no longer there. Vendors are brought in for the beach party on Monday nights.

Don't convert. They all accept, and prefer, US dollars.
