Actually, its lox... which is salmon that has been salt- and smoke-cured and thinly sliced.
Smoked salmon, or lox. Find them in your grocers freezer near the fish counter.
I always thought that it was smoked salmon, but have never asked. It is delicious :)
The salmon is smoked. Also quite commomly known as lox. Delish!
