US Dollars
US Dollars every time. All shops will take US, and also make sure you have some small bills (tens, fives and ones) for tipping the bus driver, and baggage handlers at the airport.
We found we didn't spend very much at all. Just bought Blue Mountain Coffee, Appletons and one or two craft pieces from the craft market held on the evening of the beach party at CTI.
Please post a review of your trip. We are looking forward to our next, which will be our 5th.

We are from the UK and would advise you not to bother getting Jamaican dollars, you only need US dollars as everything is priced is US$ and it is the preferred currency in shops, excursions, etc. Having said that, you could receive change in Jamaican dollars!!
However, at any Couples resort you don't need much cash, just for incidentals off resort such as shopping, tips for bus drivers, golf caddies, etc., tipping of Couples employees is not permitted and any staff accepting a tip could lose their job. In addition, Couples Resorts are 'cash free' and anything you wish to purchase from the resort gift shops are charged to your room and you settle up when you leave, we settle with a credit card but you could use cash US$ if you wish.
You will have a great time at CTI, we have being going there every year for many years now and simply love the resort and the staff and can't wait to return at Christmas. Enjoy your holiday in paradise.
Bring George... he needs some sun, too!... While your at it, Andrew, James and Abe could use a break, too.
The US$, despite what the talking heads say on tv, is the most welcome currency in the world. I've heard that some in Mexico will balk at it, but not in Jamaica.
They will love you, if you bring U.S. Dollars.... It has been my experience, that Jamaicans prefer the U.S. dollar... Have fun....
Oh looks like US dollars then !! Thanks for all the replies, will make sure we have some small bills with us. Yes Trish we will certainly post a review :) only 7 weeks to go this Thursday, but whose counting !!!!
Just thought I'd mention casually in passing.....the travel documents have arrived !!!!!!
