Planning a trip to CN in September. Our first time to Jamaica, and can't wait! Was wondering if someone can please advise whether U.S. currency is commonly used and accepted in Jamaica?

yes it is...
US$ are used all over Jamaica. Take small bills as your change may be in Jamaican and even the Jamaicans would rather have US$. Of course, the only thing you can spend cash oin at the resort are the local vendors. The gift shops and spa are all cashless. Either charge to your room or pay with credit card.

US dollars are accepted everywhere in Jamaica. You won't need much - just a few dollars for tips in the airport and spending money for beach vendors. It's best to bring one and five dollar bills since you will probably receive change in Jamaican dollars.
Thanks all! Good advice about bringing small bills so you don't end up leaving with a wallet full of Jamaican currency that will be useless when you get home. Appreciate it.
If you are planning on going off the resort, which we did, then take USD to pay for things. If you want to golf then budget $75-100/round. If you are going to YS Falls then plan on another $100 each. Going to Rick's for a few beer & to watch the divers then take another $50-100. These types of things are not charged to the resort. Not once did we receive Jamaican$$$ back, but we used small bills when ever possible.
US $$'s are fine ... No need to convert. A tip - Take smaller bills because it's hard to get change sometimes ... Nothing larger than a $20 ... Make sure to have plenty of $1's - $5's - $10's so you will be able to have exact change. Unless you're planning on doing a lot of shopping with the vendors & doing several things off the resort, you don't really need that much cash.

I would just like to say to the comment abouve that yes the spa is cashless and is charged to the room. This is one place you allowed to tip. So you would need cash for that!
