We are heading to CTI (and Jamaica) for the first itme. We are Canadian. What do people recommend when it comes to currency in Jamaica? At this point, I am under the impression that we should be converting our Canadian dollars to American dollars before we leave and that we can use American money in Jamaica. Is this the case? Also, should we be carrying mostly smaller bills for tipping on off-resort excursions and small momentos?
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Yes, you will only need US dollars as this is what they prefer. Everything at the resort can be charged to your room, but you'll need cash to buy mementos from the vendors. Small bills is a good idea for tipping non-Couples people too.
