Is there any problem booking 2 separate one way flights on different airlines? Example AA going to MBJ and US Air coming back.

Hello Toma and Pam,
You shouldn't have trouble booking 2 one-ways to MJB. We have done it before--flying Jetblue to MJB and coming home on AirTran. One thing when we checked in, the JetBlue representative did ask us if we had another one-way ticket home on another airline.
Have a great trip!

We have booked different airlines several times. Book what is convenient for you. If you cannot do it on line simply call the 800# or contact a good Travel Agent.
Other than secrity red flags that may come up due to one-way international flight bookings, no it should not be problem. If it saves you some dollars why not?
I'm no expert but it should be fine.
If your first flight is delayed, the second airline could not care less. They will not put you on a later flight, or even lift one finger to help you. They will just take your money and you'll get nothing. We tried this once when traveling to another destination with disastrous results. We lost our fare on the original flight. We then had to find another flight with space available, and pay the incredibly inflated fare you get for traveling on the same day. Unless you are going through a TA that you have complete trust in, I would not even think about doing it.
Ooops! I just read the actual question. I don't think there are any issues with what you propose.I was talking about booking a connection on a different airline.
No, that is how our TA did our flights for December. We have actually have just the opposite as you stated. Whatever works getting you down and back on your time schedule should be fine.

I can't imagine there would be. I do it all the time back in the states. With AA only showing a 7am flight out of MBJ I'm going to have to look at alternative airlines also. Just hate to waste the points!!!
Why do you think there would be a problem?

You can do it, but I would book them with travel agent or you will have the TSA looking at you very closely.

My mom went over on Air tran from Baltimore and flew back to Atlanta on Delta. They were both booked on separate days, one way and no problem anywhere. Just had to give passport number when we booked the flight for her.
Usually you pay more for one-way tickets. If those are the flights that you are wanting you might want to check with a TA and see if he/she can book the tickets as round-trip.

We do it all the time.
No. I mean unless you want the points on your Frequent Flyer Card.?
Thank you all for the responses. I was just concerned with the security red flags with one way tickets for international travel. I like to arrive at MBJ via Miami but would rather come back to the US via Charlotte.
Cheers
