What reggae do you listen to to remind you of home? We all love Bob Marley, how about something else? Looking to add to my IPod list. Thanx in advance.

We put Bob Marley on the Pandora station and enjoy most everything. I am going to have to listen to more Ziggy. I find I enjoy lots of his stuff.
I also enjoy the Pandora Dub station. It gets a bit repetitive after a while, but I do enjoy it.
I also enjoy lots of Peter Tosh. I find I gravitate towards the more political/social commentary type of reggae (I have a particular affinity toward Legalize It and others of that ilk).
Shaggy is da bomb!!!!!
Not really your usual reggae but the band >>>Skindred<<< has an interesting combination of Reggae style vocals with heavy rock music. I like it anyway.
Listen to the Toots and Maytals. They have been around forever. Old stuff is good and new stuff is good. Best reggae music around.
I've been into reggae for almost 20 years now, so I've got a lot of really good stuff. Here's just a quick sampling to get you going. I also have the CD they play on the Cat Cruise, which I ran through Shazam, so I have all the names of those songs too, if you're interested.
Songs (followed by artist):
96 Degrees in the Shade - Third World
Guess Who's Coming to Dinner - Black Uhuru
Jah Give Us Life - Wailing Souls
Jamaica Love - Busy Signal
Murder She Wrote - Chaka Demus & Pliers
Murderer - Barrington Levy
Night Nurse - Gregory Isaacs
Slavery Days - Burning Spear
With a Little Help from My Friends - Easy Star All Stars feat Luciano
Sweet Jamaica - Mr. Vegas feat Shaggy & Josie Wales
Downpressor - Peter Tosh
Let Down - Toots & the Maytals
I'm Still In Love With You - Sasha & Sean Paul
Chase Dem - Stephen Marley
Chase The Devil - Max Romeo & the Upsetters
The Way You Do The Things You Do - UB40
I'm Yours/Somewhere Over The Rainbow - Straight No Chaser (not a reggae artist, but really fits the theme)
Albums (follwed by artist):
Til Shiloh - Buju Banton
Tribulation - Dennis Brown
Legalize It - Peter Tosh
Busy Signal has a few good albums
Any of the Reggae on the Rocks live albums
The Reggae Gold albums have some good stuff and some crappy stuff - hit or miss
Israel Vibration's albums are also good
Slightly Stoopid is a Sublime-type band that is more reggae and less rap. Their acoustic album, Live & Direct has a great reggae feel.

Jimmy Cliff, Peter Tosh, Ziggy and Stephen Marley, The Wailing Souls, Toots and the Maytals, and Steel Pulse are among my favorites.
Mostly older, classic Reggae...but then, I'm pretty old.
Steel Pulse
Big Mountain
Jimmy Cliff
Sublime
Pepper
I like roots reggae
Ziggy is really good...his voice sounds a lot like his father's. But if you are looking to
Expand your horizons but still avoid dance hall music, try eek-a-mouse.
Would you be willing to make copies and sell them?

Ziggy's disc is very good and both of Stephen 's discs are good too. Also peter tosh, Gregory Issacs, Lee Scratch Perry are all good choices. enjoy :-)
I'd love to, but unfortunately, as Napster found out, it's illegal to distribute music without paying the record companies. A few of these you will hear on Pandora if you set up a Bob Marley station. All of them should be available through iTunes or another music app. I use a music downloader on my Android phone. You can also listen to all of them, I think, on YouTube.

Begins and ends with Bob but a world in between. Some of the more recent favorites of mine are Luciano, Beres Hammond and Taurus Riley, in addition to many others already mentioned.
Jack & Donna
All reggae reminds me of "home"; whether it be roots, radics, rock steady, dancehall, or any of it. My mp3 player includes the following:
Assassin
Beenie Man
Black Uhuru
Bob Marley
Bob Marley and the Wailers
Bounty Killer
Busy Signal
Collie Buddz
Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley
Eek-A-Mouse
Elephant Man
Gizzae
Jimmy Cliff
Johnny Osbourne
Lady Saw
Luciano
Maxi Priest
Mavado
Mr. Vegas
Munga
Peter Tosh
Scotty
Sean Paul
Shaggy
Steel Pulse
Stephen Marley
Tarrus Riley
The Maytals
The Melodians
UB40
Vybz Kartel
Ziggy Marley
Just to name a few...lol
I think I have about 30 hours of reggae available plus Serius XM channel 42 "The Joint" is my primary radio station in my car.

Thee awesome Matisyahu!
We saw Toots in Niagara Falls 2 years ago & he really does put on a good show. I'm pretty sure he wasn't actually singing the whole time.....but it WAS a great show nevertheless !!
And, I know others here have mentioned it but...... Steel Pulse is awesome !! Their album True Democracy is terrific !! Saw them in concert last year at the Montreal Jazz Fest & they put on a good show (the acoustics were lousy, but the show was great) !!
In addition to the other suggestions here, I'll add:
Lucky Dube !!
Jah Cure (True Reflections album) (great in concert -- saw him on Anguilla in 2010)
Culture
Duane Stephenson (better in concert than on his albums !! Saw him w/ the Wailers last yr)
Cocoa Tea
Etana (not necessarily reggae, but she has a GREAT voice)
On a related note, for anyone who wants to get to Brooklyn, Maxi Priest & UB40 are going to be at the same concert on Sun, Dec 9th at Barclays Center. I've always wanted to see each of them in concert & now I'm going to see both at the same show !! Woohoo !! That concert is to celebrate Jamaica's 50 years of independence.

If you like the older stuff (like Bob Marley) I recommend downloading the soundtrack to The Harder They Come movie from itunes. I like a lot of the more modern stuff too, but that album is classic. It includes lots of Jimmy Cliff and also has some Toots and the Maytals and Desmond Dekker and some others. It's a beautiful album.
If you go back to CSA or CN and go on the catamaran cruise, get a CD on the boat just titled Nice Reggae.$10. Really good. Our new favorite!
