Default Flight from airport to resort

Hey guys, I have a question. We are going to be flying in to Jamaica and staying at CTI in Oct. I have been before and know that the shuttle drive from the airport to the resort is about 2 hours, which wasn't bad the last time we went. We met a lot of great people on the way there and had some good times but I have also heard that they have planes that you can take from the airport to the resort and I'm wanting to know if anyone else has heard or even taken one of these personal planes. I am looking to get married in Jamaica, not carried away to some island and never see home again, lol. Anyway, just hoping you guys might be able to help me out...

There is a air shuttle service... i think it is about 200 a person... we stopped taking the flights the year after Couples stopped providing a free flight for repeat guest. It is about a 20-30 minute flight then a 10 minute ride to the resort... the customs are real tough at the Boscobel airport though... haha

    Wow! Really?

We've been flying TimAir annually since 1999. We've never felt like Curtis or one of the other pilots planned to abduct us. We flew to Ochio Rios in August 2009 when we stayed at CSS and in January 2010 when we stayed at CTI. The cost for two people round trip at those times was approximately $800, and the flight time is approximately 30 minutes.

You can request a quote through its website: www.timair.com

We're flying on TimAir next month when we stay at CN. After we made our reservations, we received emails from two of the employees who saw our flight added to the schedule and wanted to say hello/welcome back. There's really nothing to worry about. TimAir is a reputable company with loyal employees who are friendly and efficient and will ensure that you reach your final destination.

Take the free shuttle. It cost over $400. per person round trip from Mobay to Ocho Rios for the plane
Since they completed the new road from the airport to Ocho Rios is is about a 1 hour & 45 min. trip on a smooth road that avoids most of the towns.

You don't save much time if you fly and it is not worth the cost

Yes, Tim Air but they are expensive and they still do not take you right to the Ocho Rios resorts, The small landing strip in Negril is really close to CN (you could walk) but not in Ocho Rios.

You may want to consider Timair on your way back to Sangster Airport. We have always done that on trips to CN & CSA since the airport is right across the street from CN and just 10 minutes from CSA.Last April it was $214 for the two of us. We never flew from Ocho because it was too expensive. We have usually enjoyed the shuttle bus trip on the way to Couples. I say usually because a lot depends on your driver. In 7 trips we had a good, fun & informative driver 5 times. The other 2 we had drivers that never spoke or played any music. They also never asked if we wanted to stop halfway. The ride to the resort is fun because you are excited about getting to the start of your vacation and it gives you a chance to see the country. Taking Timair saves you a lot of time at the end of your trip. Our flight left Sangster at 4:30. On our last night, we had a note left under the door instructing us to have our luggage out the next day by 8:00 AM and plan on leaving for the airport on the shuttle at 10 AM. We would have been at the airport about 5 hours before our flight. I called down right away and reminded them that we were taking Timair to Mobay. They told us that we didn't have to leave CSA until 1:00 PM. Outr Timair flight left at 1:30 and we were at Sangster at about 1:50. Curtis is a great pilot and very informative. That gave us a nice relaxing morning breakfast and a last walk around the resort before leaving. To us it is well worth a couple hundred dollars. The view of the island is worth the price too. We think of it as an offsite excursion.

They say it takes two hours but it is really closer to an hour and 15 or an hour and a half. Even with a bathroom break. At least with our drivers, it was that fast. I would save your money and take the free shuttle. The driver we had taking us to the resort was great entertainment. He bought us gineps, sang to us and pretty much gave us a guided tour as we drove along the coast. It goes by very quickly!

I have been visiting Jamaica since 98...not long for some but long enough to have been on the old road and the new road to Negril. While I think TimAir provides a much needed service...I would elect to take the road anytime over the short flight. You get to see the people and the real Jamaica.

I have been lucky enough to have been to JA many times and have met some great people. While I love Couples and would not do it any other way now...there is nothing better than getting into a cab and driving to your destination and stopping a few times along the way for refreshments and than getting to your destination. I have stayed at cottages on the cliffs and other less then luxury places and its all good. The people of JA are great! I am lucky enough to pick anyplace in the free world to take my vacation and I always pick Jamaica! I love the people, I love Couples, I love the relaxation that come with it.

In the last few years I stay on the property, not because I am worried about leaving, its just that I love everything Couples provides...I wouldn't hesitate for a second to venture off property...because if you love people they love you back..and JA is the same...I am just lazy the older I get and don't need to go off the property....when I get older I would love to retire on any beach in JA...its the best place on earth...!

If this is your first trip to Jamaica take the shuttle to really see the country side and the people. The bus drivers or people that are repeaters can point out some very interesting land marks.

We took TimAir to CN it was $105/ person each way. we took the flight to CN and the shuttle back to Mobay when we were leaving...who wants to leave right?! Curtis is a fantastic pilot it was really fun!!

We like to take the Timair flight from Negril back to Mobay. It gives you a couple of extra hours on the beach on your last day. Not to mention the thrill of single-engine flight.
