I make a stop at the local Goodwill and pick up 4 or 5 paperbacks that look interesting at 50 cents each... then leave them in the game room at CN for others to enjoy, and use the empty suitcase space for souveniers...

I like easy reads for the beach. I don't want to think too hard. I don't want sad stories that make me cry either! Sandra Brown (romance not mystery) are my favorite for beach or poolside. They are quick reads. They are romantic- perfect for Couples since you are there with your lover!

We always pack our reads, then LEAVE them in the resort library. Makes suitcase room going home and expands the onsite offerings. Only trouble with an international resort is the books in a language I don't do. The ones I tried didn't even have pictures!

Jodi Picoult is great. Also, if you haven't read them, any James Patterson or John Grisham. Oh, and Jennifer Weiner-In Her Shoes, Good In Bed

I have wanted to read The Help (have heard it's really good). I know that The Mermaid's Chair is an excellent read and I like almost anything by Nicholas Sparks. Usually an easy read. The Secret Life of Bees is an excellent book as well, but is pretty deep too.

...I enjoyed Bill O'Reilly's "Bold Fresh Piece Of Humanity". No, it is not political, but very entertaining.

Banana Shout is a great book and perfect for the beach! It's a fictional but semi tru story about Negril back in the 70's, includes hippies, Rick's Cafe, the Banana Shout resort (Cliffs). It is really entertaining and makes you wonder how much of it is true!
