I need nelp from all you Couples experts picking a resort

I usually travel 1 - 2 times a year but this is my first Couples vacation. It will be myself and my husband and my sister and bro in law. All mid 40's. I can't decide on any of the resorts and I guess I am leaning toward CN and just want reassurance that I am picking the right resort. I am looking for a resort that is


Swim up bar is a MUST
Nice beach is a must but not as important as a swim up bar
OV room is not necessary but would love it if right $$
Nightly entertainment is also important. I dont need a huge disco but some fun bars with karaoke or couples games would be great.

sounds like CN is calling to you, so go with it! My husband and I are in our very early 40's now, and have been to CN three times in the past 5 years (we haven't been able to break away to try any of the other three couples yet!) and we absolutely love everything about it. They have both a fantastic beach AND awesome swim-up bar (with a view of the beautiful beach and bay!). Because of the way the buildings are arranged, there are very few true OV rooms, and IMHO, not worth the extra money as you spend so much time lounging on the beach enjoying the ocean view, and so little time in your room (at least we don't). We always get the cheapest garden view room, and have always had our request for a third floor room granted because we totally love them - when your on your balcony it's like your up in a treehouse in the rain forest, surrounded by tall palms and chirping birds. And they have lots of fun things to do at night - like a retro dance party in the piano bar, casino night and a flashlight frog hunt! I don't think there is any way you can go wrong with any of the Couples resorts, but CN called to us five years ago, and we will continue to go back as often as we can because it has become our "home."

From everything I've read, (my first visit to CSA is in June) if the swim up bar is number one than CN is the way to go.

We've been to CSA, CSS & CN and I think for what you describe that your looking for, CN is a perfect fit.
We went went other couples on 2 of our trips. One time to CN, the other to CSS. Both times were great but the CN trip was a little better. More than half of our day was spent at the pool & pool bar and CN has the best pool of all the Couples resorts. One of the other reasons CN was better for a small group was the catamaran cruise. It's always a fun time but it's even better shared with friends.

CTI is the one just renovated and they have a swim up bar athe new pool. they have two pools and good night life. that would be my choice but i'm sure everyone will chime in.

We have been to CN twice and are returning this July. We love CN. I think it will have everything you are looking for. The pool with swim-up bar is really nice, the beach fabulous and the piano bar is open at night until the last person staggers out.

Thank you all for your replies. I thought I read that CSA had a lap pool and not a swim up bar?? But, I have looked at SO many resorts in the last week, I surely could be confusing that with another resort.

CTI is the one just renovated and they have a swim up bar athe new pool. they have two pools and good night life. that would be my choice but i'm sure everyone will chime in.

if you count TI they have 3 pools and 2 swim up bars.

CSA has three pools, the one at the fitness center is a lap pool but one of the others has a swim-up bar. At CSA the beach is really the main focus even though they have three pools...the pools are nice but smaller, the beach is gorgeous and the main attraction at that resort. I believe all the resorts have a swim-up bar...unless CSS does not? However, at CN the pool really is the main attraction and if you are already leaning towards that resort it does sound like it fits you. Go to the web pages for each resort and look at all the photos, read all the info about them, read all the reviews here on the message board and ultimately one will really call to you.

I was in the same boat as you; trying to choose the vacation place was tough. My travel agent recommended CN and some clients had just returned raving about it...the beach and the pool, etc. After reading all of the messages about it, I was convinced that we just had to try it. We're going in 2 weeks; I'll give it a good honest review when I get back...I'm quite certain that it will be fabulous! Seems to have everything we're looking for and more!

Pamela...perhaps I worded that poorly. The pool is nicer than those at the other resorts, or something along those lines may have been more accurate? Feel free to clean that up for me.

I have only stayed 2 times at CN but agree completely with Pamela. The beach is the main attraction, just like at CSA. I also agree that pool people would prefer CN.

My husband and I stayed at CN on our honeymoon. Ten years later, we want to return! We loved our stay and thought that CN was AMAZING! I really wanted to try one of the Ocho Rios resorts this time around, but, am having difficulty choosing a resort! We are looking fwd to relaxing on the beach, working out, taking the Dunns River Falls excursion, and having a little night life! Please help

all four couples have a swim up bar. Ive been to 3 of the 4 ( going to CTI this april to complete ). Everyone has different opinions, but you cant really go wrong with any of the resorts. My favorite so far is CSS. and CN is my least favorite. CSS is just beautiful and fun to walk around and explore. CSA has the nice beach and the awesome sports complex, I loved lifting weights in the huge open air gym, then jumping into the lap pool to cool off. They also had a nice jogging path as well. I live by the beach, and we have some beautiful wide open beaches here in NC (though we dont have the beautiful clear blue water), so Im not really concerned about the size of the beach, but I know a lot of people are. So if you are big into the beach CSA would defintely win out. Not sure why people would choose CN over CSA, but a lot of people love CN. I know a lot of people want to be au naturel, which they dont offer at CSA, but I dont care about that. CN is like CSA without the nice sports complex. CSS just feels magical to me amd I love taking the stairs everywhere.

CSS is very nice, we went to CN 3 or 4 times before trying CSS and we loved it, beach is nice but much smaller than CN, pool was nice, rooms were nicer than CN, best a/n beach.
