The current taxes are added into what you are already paying. The article is talking about the increases in the current tax already being imposed. The entrance tax has been added to your airline ticket price. This is not something that you will be required to pay in cash at immigration or anything. You will have already paid it. Just as an FYI, there is a departure tax also. It is also included in your airline ticket price.

Does this apply if you are already booked?

Looks like it's true! But....my travel agent said that since I've already purchased flight and hotel stay for our next visit, the taxes will not apply. Whew!!!

There's always been a departure tax (rolled in); let's see how this plays out with the resorts.

    Greetings to all:

The room tax will be absorb by the hotels. The $20 airport tax will be added to all airline tickets starting August 1. If you book your airline tickets BEFORE August 1, you will avoid paying this mandatory tax :-)

    Randymon,
Thank you for the reply. As this is your business you have the best insight into how this new tax will affect travel, the process, and be implemented.

    Thank you,
    Mark
