We love Couples and after dinner hang out in the main bar area usually. We are present when the evening's entertainment begins. However we frequently opt for returning to our room and hanging out on the balcony. From this location we can hear the music and enjoy watching couples stroll to their rooms as the night goes on. We are simply not interested in watching the LasVegas-style show of American music. The house band that plays during dinner is more entertaining, in our opinion, especially during the afternoon while doing sound check. The steel drum band is wonderful and draws a lot of people over to watch and listen. We'd love to see more local, Jamaican musicians! Is there anyone else who would appreciate more Jamaican-style music for the evening's entertainment?

YES!! Absolutely!! When at CSA we NEVER stay for the evening music (with the exception of the Silver Birds). While the performers might be decent, we just don't enjoy that cruise ship type of entertainment. But there's always a crowd, so we just figured we were in the minority.

We'd definitely enjoy hearing some more Jamaican talent, and hopefully Couples can help to spotlight their local musicians.

We so agree with this. Love the Mentos Band and the SilverBirds. More local talent would be great.

Love the Silverbirds. Also enjoyed a cellist at breakfast one morning at The Palm.

We don't attend many of the evening activities, and I must admit this is a big part of the reason.

We would love to see more local talent performing and it would be great to have the performers vary. Perhaps Couples could use this during the slower seasons to increase bookings--i.e. maybe book up and coming performers in high season and bigger names in low season to attract more bookings for a summer concert series? We love the mento bands and the steel drum bands and think local reggae and dancehall artists would be a welcome addition. For dancehall, of course, Couples would want to be selective and pick artists with a positive vibe, in keeping with the romantic nature of the resorts. If this is too costly, one idea would be to have a concert night one night per week (say at CSA and CSS and invite the guests of CN and CTI over for the evening event on the beach) that way it would only require two bookings per week. I bet Temo would have great ideas on how to put something like this together. :-)
