Latest Tripadvisor review WOW

Sorry but just read the latest report I would love to know the story behind that. I have checked his photos and it just looks like the Carribean to me. Who would waste their holiday time seeking out and photographing cracks and dead leaves! 16 days to go CTI first time.

I also just read the Trip Advisor report and feel that I have to comment on it. I do feel that something is not right with the report and pictures. In looking at the pictures it seems that they were taken after it rained as there is no sun in any of them. As CTI is windy that could be the reason for what he calls debris as these pictures were taken after a heavy rain. I also find it funny that he said the piano bar was outdated, are you getting me! Also, the spa is beautiful. This person nicked picked on everything and although CTI is not perfect (no hotel is) it is far from what this person said. I was married at the old COR and have been back every year (this June/July will be our 13th trip). The feeling that you get when you go to CTI is wonderful and you will love it! For any newcomers ignor his post as he was probably a plant from another resort.

That review was made by a travel agent who has a long time feud with Couples and Gary Stevens( VP of Operations)

He ONLY recommends the WINDY resorts. He will continualy say that a 2-3* in Runaway Bay is BETTER then Couples. When he "stayed" at CTI he was only on the resort for about 45 minutes to 4 hours before he was ESCORTED off the property by security.

Disregard anything this IDIOT says! If you want the real story just check out TRIP ADVISOR and PM me. I am Frodobagginskennedy on there.

You would have to know and follow that poster on tripadvisor forums to understand his posting, he just loves to berate Couples and has declared himself thee master of Jamaican knowledge just ignore the post, by the pictures he took you can see he was on a mission prior to his arrival to knock Couples, he was actually asked to leave the resort and never completed his stay there.

If you are talking about Jamaica Steves review, take my word for it, anyone who has ever been on the Negril Forums of Trip Advisor know this guy has it out for Couples. He has nothing nice to EVER say about Couples and even though he is supoosed to be a "travel agent" , his agenda is to only promote one resort. He constantly has something negative to say about Couples even though if you look at ALL the Couples reviews they consistantly get great reviews.
He very simply is another word for a donkey!

WOW!! wonder what really happened cause that review doesn't sound right. I wouldn't worry about a few bad reviews, some people complain that the water is to wet.

First it looked like there was a storm that just rolled through, which would explain the lack of people, mud, beach conditions. How quick do they need to clean up to satisfy the complainer?

Second, and I'll catch some heat for this I imagine, but if you do go around the resort in the public areas, you will find some cracks, along with plenty of places that could use a touch up of paint and some rust spots. Those could be, and should be fixed. No excuses for screws being left around.

Third, the complainer is not a very good photographer as quite a few of the photos are so blurry you don't know what the problem is, other than that they are a bad photographer. Looks like some of those were rushed.

Fourth, they clearly went out of their way to find problems. I'm surprised they didn't open a utility closet and take a photo of how messy it is. Some of the areas in the pictures are or should be off limits to guests. Looks like they were snooping around.

Fifth, some of the criticism was just opinion. Particularly the dated, cold and old comments and pictures. Yes, the hotel is not a brand new Ritz Carlton, and its clear in advertising and on this board that if you are looking for marble and water fountains everywhere, this is not the resort for you. It is a simple and elegant property, with a touch of art deco.

Sixth, the photos clearly are taken to portray the hotel in a bad light. Not only did they go looking for problems (cracks, debris piles, behind the scenes photos) but their labeling of the photos is purposefully misleading. I refer to the picture of the "beach" in front of Bayside, which isn't really a beach, or the path in the spa area, rooftop view or garden pics. All of these are out of context (although at least a few were in focus).

So my opinion is that this person either was a plant, or had a real chip on their shoulder about something. I am curious though as to the handling of the situation. If they were noisy or snooping around, perhaps it was right to send them off.

I tried to look up his supposed posts on the TA forums that he referenced in his "review". Weird, they can't be found. Sounds like his whole story is all made up, and as previously stated, he has a chip on his shoulder about something and is out to ruin Couples' image. I'm sure it burns him that Couples received the recent rankings they did.

I also looked for them and couldn't find anything either. I looked at a listing of all of his posts and there was nothing about Couples in the date range when he was in Jamaica.

Interestingly enough though, I did find a post he made just before he left for Jamaica in which he mentions that he has no desire to go to Couples - that he doesn't like their Ocho Rios properties. This implies to me that he has been to them yet his review sounds like he is checking out CTI for the first time??

I also found it funny that he mentioned in his "review" that he was checking the Trip Advisor forum "as he walked back from Bayside after dinner"!!?!!? Who does that!!

Can't help but wonder what would posess someone to be so negative while in JA. What a waste of energy. Altho I agree that a paintbrush and some rust remover would improve the scenery I totally enjoyed Randy's response on TA. We certainly won't let that ridiculous post influence our upcoming visit to CTI. Can't wait to come home!!!

I watched that incident as it unfolded on a TA forum and I can tell you that the review of CTI posted by this person is very biased and most importantly only his side of the story. It's full of inaccuracies. I'm surprised TA even allowed it to go up with out it being edited.

Some people can find fault in anything.

I'm a trip advisor regular as well and watched the whole thing go down. It seems that this guy went there specifically with the intent to run down Couples Resorts. Take anything he says with a grain of salt. This is not the first time he has published posed pictures of the Resort in an attempt to make it look bad.
Much respect to those who booted him off resort. Too bad trip advisor doesn't boot him off as well.

I noticed you replied on this review on TA. Some of his photos on Webshots are not labeled correctly. Is Couples going to do something about his misrepresentation? Just curious. Yes, everyone is not "cut out" for Couples, but the photos he shows of the "walkway to the spa" and the bathroom covered in green (clearly something he photo shopped as it is on everything including the trash liner) and then the path views. What path was he on? I have taken many walks around the property and never even saw these locations.

What about the photo labeled--entrance to 8 Rivers, or the one "Path to the Spa". In 6 trips, we have been all over that resort and never saw that path. Also, the view from the room. Yes, we have had that view--when we turned and looked left. Don't know where the "oceanview" photo is from. Makes no sense to me.
