HI there, i Have been several times to Couples, Now couple isle tower and everytime and i have been i have always took my jewellery with me, My husband and i go and see friends that we have made outside of the resort and i have never felt threatened in any way. Saying that though it is how you feel and going to such a beautiful place to relax you do not need the worry, if i were you you for peace of my and a truly relaxing holiday leave the real stuff at home and take cheap alternatives. Enjoy your holiday!

I Don't understand. Why would you not wear your good jewelry in Jamaica. It looks so good against a tan body. If your jewelry has a current insurance rider, for the correct replacement value, than why not enjoy it???

Bobsharon79, For some of us it has nothing to do with the money. The ring my husband lost was not expensive at all. But for the rest of our lives, I know that the ring I place on his finger when we got married is gone. I can buy him a new ring, and I will, but it's not the ring with which we got married and never will be. Perhaps I'm sensitive to it because of my own personal history. My father died when I was young and my mom, though she's moved on, still has his ring. I love that she has that. She gave it and her wedding ring to me to walk down the aisle with in a little baggie attached to my bouquet at my wedding. It meant the world to me. My husband's wedding ring is gone. A check from the insurance company can't begin to make up for that.

I went to Walmart and bought a BEAUTIFUL cz ring that looks exactly like my ring (except a half carat bigger!). It cost me $8 and now I have piece of mind. Eventhough my rings are insured, why take the chance. I agree with the fact that we will be in the water and slippery tan lotion can cause it to come right off. I'd rather not take chances plus its kinda fun wearing something different!

I do not wear my rings all the time so I generally bring costume pieces on vacation and often opt for one of my other rings to wear on my ring finger. I keep my rings in the same place at home but have a bad habit of leaving them around when on vacation so for me, I prefer to leave my good stuff at home.

I would never wear my wedding band to the beach or in the water and that is where we spend most of our time.
