MBJ Airport Question

This year, we'll be landing at Montego Bay around 1pm, and I'd like to grab something to eat (just a snack) before boarding the shuttle to CSS. I've never paid any attention to what's in the arrivals area other years, can anyone tell me what might be available? Thanks!

There really is no place to get anything to eat. We were there in July. You can get something to drink at the Couples Lounge. Quite often the driver will stop on the way to the hotel for you to get something to eat.

We are in such a hurry to get to the couples lounge we never even look!!
Our driver usually stops and this year we got jerk chicken and a beer. YUMMY. Way better than the airport food.

All the restaurants and shops are in the departure area of which you will not be able to go you when you arrive.
After you clear customs you will be directed to the Couples lounge where you can get soda, water or beer only.
Ask you dirver to stop along the way for a snack/nature break

Nothing to eat at the airport, but the bus will stop for you to get some food.

LOL, I sat here and sat here and tried to think....and I truly can't answer that question.....talk about a one track mind. I am totally focused on getting to the lounge!!

Nothing that I remember in arrivals however if you come around to the entrance before check in there is a Burger King.

Thanks for the info. We've never bothered looking before, just made the dash to the Couples lounge. I think I'll drop a couple of granola bars in my purse to tide us over.

if my memory serves me correctly, there is a stand on your right hand side after walking out the door to go to the busses.

When we got to the lounge, there was a woman eating a sandwich. I think she got it outside, just through he doors where you actually get on the shuttle.

As you walk out the door, to get on the bus, there are two stands off to your right. They are outside, but right next the the building. They have beer and food. I can't tell you what they have for food, but they have something.

We usually just have the van driver stop at the Shell station just outside of the airport. We grab a few beers for the road!!

Yeah, I do not remember seeing anything but the different resort lounges at the airport. We went to CN and stopped about 3/4 through for a break and they had food at the stop you could get.

depends upon WHERE you come in, last year our jetway deplaned right in front of Margaritaville. There are a few other restaurants up there in the concourse but depending upon which gate you arrive then you might not see the restaurants.

After you drop off your luggage at the Couples lounge, go out the doors (as if you're heading out to the bus area), there is a small bar to your right. You can get a patty there, but I don't think there's much else as far as food.

Be sure and let the guys in the Couples lounge know where you're going so they don't leave you!

DON'T GO to Margaritaville! The one at MBJ is TERRIBLE and their customer service is horrible too.

We had good food and service when we were there. They were extremely slow so it took away from the party vibe we are used to at Margaritaville but we couldn't complain otherwise.

If you're heading to CSA or CN, ask the driver to stop a Jerky's. It's just on the edge of town and has some spectacular jerk pork. The chicken is okay, but the pork is not to be missed.

In the other direction - toward Ocho Rios and CTI or CSS - Scotchies is some of the best jerk on the island.

We always dring a couple sandwiches from our local deli (dry, no tomatos or slaw, with packets of condiments so it doesn't go bad or get mushy). I hate having to buy overpriced, mediocre-at-best airport food. Granola bars would work, too, but we have a bit of a haul (and leave VERY early in the morning) to get to Jamaica, so I need something a bit more substantial. I'd rather have my first "Jamaican food memory" be of wonderful Couples food than whatever you manage to grab on the way, but that's just me.

That is correct, except this picture is to the left. There may be something else on the right:

Some of the stuff on the way gave us our best memories. Some drivers will stop at Yow's on the way to Ochi...fantastic stuff.

You cannot access this area when you deplane due to being routed directly to Immigration Hall. You can only go there when your leaving Jamaica.
