Message board obsession

Just booked my first holiday to Jamaica and CSA this and I am definately hooked. There is so much useful information, it gets you so excited - I've even started a notebook.

There are more that hide in the shadows, lurching over someones shoulder, just waiting.
My wife, of almost 45 years in May, has never posted here. She has, however, read all my work. She is a good critic. And one of many "lurkers" that frequent the board.
I have been on here a long time. Actually, Randy/Ivonna, if you could see when I joined the board, that would be of interest to me.
There are a lot of partners who do not post. Then there are those that do have a name they post under, but it is only seldom,that we see their posts.
Next come partners that don't post but are interested in the news of the board. Here is where some diplomacy is needed. Constantly having to read and report, become burdensome. After a short while one partner will be heard saying, " I'm sorry, but I just can't go on being your ace reporter" "That's good. Because I am tired of always having to wait for your information". Longevity can play a crucial role here.
There is the "dynamic duo" of "Posting for Points", my good friends Bruce and Kelli. Nice couple. They have a lot going for them. They have a nice rhythm with each other.
I like the way they interact. With each other and how they present themselves to others. I'm glad we met them when we did.
These guys post about every 11 to 67 seconds. They relate to each other, sometimes allowing us great insight into the workings of this tireless couple.

Now there may be any number of additional types of those who do and those who don't. And for those who don't but which they did. Ones who wish they hadn't when they did. Still more of you that may have the best of all the worlds. These clever higher functioning creatures have no difficulty in being in all worlds. Posting often, with half suggestions, half shallow sharing. Also, they are able to hold back posting for ridiculously lengthy periods for long painful times, There are more sub divisions, each with their own quaint local customs and celebration rituals.
So we have learned of some new and possibly likable folk.

I know that we can all just get along.

I too am a couples addict and this message board is my fix until we are back in Jamaica!! I know it is an addiction that I will not recover from. I happily relinquish all self control and plan to stay addicted as long as I possibly can!!

Back to where all this craziness started....TI in 15 sleeps and one breakfast !!!!! Can't wait to see all my fellow addicts so we can plan our NEXT binge!!

I am addicted as well and I have not yet set foot at a Couples Resort! (465 sleeps until I am there) My fiancee thinks I am crazy for being on here so much, but this message board is what made me choose Couples. Seeing all of you repeaters and so may tips and tons of advice is what made me choose Couples. I am the internet "junkie" in the relationship so Dave is never on here. But I tell him all the things I have found on here and he will read over my shoulder. And we both love looking at all the pictures people post, especially the weddings! I'm sure I will check this board for the next 466 days... and probably on the plance on the way down as well! When you are dealing with this crazy Michigan weather, you have to have something to look forward to! Thank you to Couples (and randymon) for having this AMAZING message board that helps newbies like us have the knowledge we need (I will be bringing bendy straws!) to make our trip the best ever! And thanks to all of you vets for the great advice!! 465 sleeps...465 sleeps...

Thank you Diane. Did that reply come from Randy? I have that many posts? I had no idea. Is that a lot for three years? I actually thought we had been here for about ten years. I think that it's hard sometimes to judge time spans.

Also a message board addict. I've gotten so many great tips about little things to bring (insulated mugs, bendy straws, etc) and love hearing everyone's stories and suggestions. My boyfriend definitely thinks I'm a little crazy!

Hey Macs from Alberta, are you from Fort Mac or is Mac part of your last name?? Been a long, snowy winter here in the northeast too, can't wait till CN next Monday!!

The Mac is from our last name, although we are close to Fort Mac (as the crow flies anyway).

Becky- I know what you mean! I've never been to Couples either and I'm on this message bored all the time! I go in Oct for my wedding. And my fiance thinks I'm nuts too. But when you live in Northern Ontario and its a blizzard on April 5th...you really just need to think about sandy warm beaches and tropical sun. LOL

The original Couples MB had the 1st post on 11/22/03. I'm sure you were on that board and I believe you may have been on the old independent board run by DennisPhoto prior to that. I know Lsuth, Cricketpepper, Kevin (of KevnBecky), Chris and a few other long timers were.

I am so glad that there are so many others who are just as addicted as myself!!! I have not even been to Couples yet, we will be leaving in 55 days and 10 minutes!!! June 6th can't come soon enough, our honeymoon at CN( Is it sad that we are looking forward to the honeymoon more than the wedding? We feel like we are already married I guess!!)
I feel like we have learned so much from this message board and I very much appriciate that you all take the time to post reviews, comments, suggestions and opinions!! Everything I have read has helped me in some way....from choosing which resort to what to pack!!! Thank you all!! I look forward to a wonderful honeymoon at CN!!

Who haven't been around much at all since the new MB went live but used to live and breathe on this board! Unfortunately, since we haven't been "home" in a good long while I don't have much info to share and we all know that after awhile all those same posts over and over....did anyone see the weather at CSS thread? I just can't do it anymore! I certainly DO miss the people, my friends! and I miss Dirtleg's iron response..Now that we have a trip booked I'm finding myself winding my way over here more often...

PS Richie...you would need to ask when you signed up on the OLD board as we were both posting as far back as January of 2006 that I know of for certain. All my love darling, kiss Syl for me!
