From what I've read, I like the process and lounge idea. My question is, can I still do some duty free shopping or is the lounge sort of closed off and away from these shopes? Fisrt time to Jamaica in a couple of months and I want to make the most of it. Not sure if I can get some BM Coffee while at the resort, so the airport option is one I'd like to stiil consider, and if I can use the lounge too, that'd be a bonus.

The lounge is right below the red stripe cafe near margaritaville. You can come and go as you please. I sat there and watched TV while my wife shopped.

Does this allow you to get into a "fast lane" through the luggage check? We were in that line for over an hour
during our last trip and barely had time to shop at the airport. I'll do anything to avoid this in the future!

Nope....you still have to check your luggage with your airlines FIRST. Then you go to the info booth for the lounge & they walk you through.....be ready for some nasty looks from the people in the "regular" line but you paid for the privilege...

I am wondering about this as well. Spent over an hour last year to check luggage and only about 20 minutes to get through security.

I think we will give it a try. We have credit card from US Airways which allows us to check-in in first class even though we are travelling coach. If you travel the same airline then it is worth it- no bag fees and first in line
