Newbie CSS questions.

Hi, we are planning our 2010 trip to CSS and have a couple of questions.
Our choices in rooms are,Beachfront Jacuzzi suite, Ocean balcony suite, and Veranda suite. Which of these has a nice view of the water yet secluded without too many steps? Also, does the Jacuzzi suite have a full walk in shower? Open to all opinions.
We will not arrive until early Friday evening, will we miss the Gala or does it go all evening?
We are both in the early stages of 50, is this at the high end of ages at the resort or are we more or less in the "comfort zone", keep in mind we both dabble in AN sunbathing and do not want to feel out of place.

We were in D1 an Ocean balcony suite, which overlooks the beach are, but was partially blocked by palm trees, which didn't bother us. We had to climb rr steps to the lobby/Palaziina restaurant and 55 steps to reach the beach. At age 58 the steps were no problem as there are many landings and building foyers along the way. We could also walk to the ocean end of the building and take the gently sloping walkway most of the way to the beach.

Age does not seem to be a porblem anywhere on the resort including SSB where we we not the oldest or youngest, but just part of a very sociable group. The socializers at SSB were at the pool area, while many others stayed on the beach, and were spread out comfortably.

The Gala goes until around 10pm. We arrived for dinner around 8pm, but should have gotten there sooner as much of the food was gone.

We were just at CSS for 2 weeks in an Ocean front Jacuzzi suite which had a good view of the beach from Block B. There is a walk in shower.

These suites are very close to both beaches, the Bella Vista and the Palazinna Restaurants. If you do not want to climb the 2 steep hills or many stairs to the lobby and the Casanova restaurant you can call the front desk for a shuttle bus. The only drawback was the noise from Charlie's bar some evenings. It seems to depend on who is there and drank too much.

The Au Naturel beach has no age limit. I turned 70 and we were not the oldest there. Everybody is friendly and there are all shapes and sizes.

The gala dinner starts at 7ish and goes on for a few hours.

Thank-you both for your information. It looks as though we will be booking our trip tomorrow. It will be our first time to CSS and Jamaica, so we are quite excited. I think we are going with what our airline is calling the Ocean balcony suite, we think it is a one bedroom that is higher up on the cliff hopefully with a larger balcony and larger bathroom. If any of you repeaters have any advice it would be appreciated. Thanks.

We've stayed in a One Bedroom Ocean Suite in block G, twice, and loved it! These are also located in D, E, & F blocks. You'll enjoy a large balcony with a beautiful view of the ocean. Bathrooms have a his & hers sink, which makes it easier when trying to get ready for something like the Gala.
