Night Snorkeling

Can someone out there please tell me about the night snorkeling that I am hearing about? Where can I book it, how long is the excursion, any pictures out there I might be able to see? I know this might sound like a stupid question but night snorkeling.... will we see anything/what?

Night Snorkelling was $35.00 at CN. Your out on the trip for about 45 minutes or so. Around 30 minutes of that is in the water. You'll see things at night that you won't or can't see during the day. It was worth the extra money. You must sign up a day in advance. They will give everyone a spotlight and two employees will escort you around the reef and point out fish and other animals. I have no pictures. Book it at the watersports hut.

Sounds very interested I think that this is a must that we will be doing...Everyone keeps talking about it, I just wondered how it actually worked....

WE are planning on doing this, but I am slightly scared. I blame "Jaws." I feel I will spend the entire time watching my toes, instead of the wild life, hee.

We absolutely loved the night snorkel experience and I think we'll do it again in Dec. If I remember correctly, there had to be at least 4 people booked for watersports to be able to take you.

It's not scary at all. I had the same feelings before but it was so fun and the awesome watersport's guys make you feel comfortable. Everyone has a flashlight to use underwater. One guy leading and one at the rear of the group.

Something I would definitely recommend you do at least once!

Night snorkeling was the best. We were at CN early September and couldn’t have asked for a better time at Couples. Anyway when you leave for the night snorkel the sun is about to set and you can see just fine. When you reach your dive point it is pitch black. The first thing I realized is everything in the water can see way better than I can…that got my adrenaline pumping for sure. We saw a lot more at night, squid, octopus, puffer fish, sting ray, sea snake, etc. It was totally worth the extra money. Unfortunately pictures are impossible unless you have a water proof digital camera (which I don’t) don’t even bother taking a water proof camera because without the flash it is useless. I hope you enjoy.

I am excited to go for sure after my mailman brought us a package.... We bought the snorkeling mask with a built in digital camera...It should make for some interesting photos....I

We paid the $30 or $35/person for the night snorkel last year and it was incredible! You get to see so many amazing things that you don't get to see snorkelling in the day. We saw sea cucumbers, star fish and blow fish (we got to hold those) and saw reef squid, lots of shrimp, lobster, moray eels, etc.
It's not to be missed!!

Were did you get the snorkeling mask with built in digital camera? What did it cost? I WANT ONE!!!

We got them off line if you google it you will come up with it..its called liquid digital mask, camera.. we originally saw them at a Blacks store and found them on line cheaper they ran just under $100, plus shipping

OK, thanks for sharing this, Kev and I have been researching these for the last 30 minutes and now we both want one. Looks really great and I think we'll order them.

Hi,
If you are looking for a camera mask look at leisurepro.com
they have atleast 3 but be careful wich one you buy make shure it is rated for the depth you might go. 1 is rated 16ft next is rated 33ft and the third is rated for 115 ft and on some of theese the have changeable lenses for corective lense like glassses get your perscrirtion in the massk so you dont have to wear contacts.

Here are a couple of pics Just wanted to show you the difference with and without flash. these were taken with a 35 mm sealife camera with flash if you search the internet you might find something like it cheep around $100. but check the depth first.
