The best thing that could happen to "windy Trelawny" would be a very localised hurricane!!! That place was a dump 3 years ago! Anyhoooo, I am a DE on TA and I sent my concerns to the head of the DE's hoping for some action. He is sending everyones requests up the food chain. Hopefully this bit of nastiness will disappear from TA once and for all.

As Hoteliers I am sure there is a slight number of things that do go missing due to misplacing items. However SAFES were placed in the rooms to be USED......telling people it is OK to lock things in a suitcase is IMO unethical for an alleged Travel Agent. Another reason not to take this person seriously.

I tagged it as well. I wouldn't let it bug you that much though. Any reasonably objective person can read that review and will know that he went there looking for problems.

If you look at his photos, it is clear that he was looking to display the worst in everything.

I wondered that myself. At the very least, refer to the restaurant as Asian, but if you look at the literature and even the menu, it states Thai cuisine.

Well Wiggy, JS as we call him is a complex fellow. If you really look at the review, he has difficulty getting through 2 consecutive sentences without a spelling mistake. Here are just a few:
Prefice - how about preface!
Rooves? I think he meant the plural of roof.
Catagory?
Nachoes?
Literred?
Amoung?
Japonese? Already covered but this is a classic! What kills me is he actually ate a meal there and still thinks its Japanese!
Honestly, the review is worth a second read for comedic relief. I highly doubt JS and his Debris would be the object of a search of the property. They were dining at an open air restaurant where they had reservations. Also, JS is a rather disheveled looking person that would stand out in the classy crowd at CTI. It might take management about 30 seconds to locate him if they were trying.

Now, lets look at the complaints:

Mud on the walkways
Only one couple on the entire beach and one staff member
Debris on the beach (not his girlfriend but real seaweed)
Hallway smells damp and musty
Lots of people in the lobby.

HMMMMM lets all think really hard on this one! Turns out there was a heck of a thunderstorm that went through the area from 2pm to about 3:45. It even made the newspaper! Amazing how things smell damp, people vacate the beach and congregate in the lobby when it rains. I guess this doesnt happen at the Windy resorts.
What is the story on the bathroom? I mean, did I read that right? His tiles were cold? Usually people just whine that the grout is crooked but WOW, cold tiles is just a deal breaker.
I love the drama too, her heart medication? Really? And now the world traveller is cast out into the night in a foreign country with only 1's and 5's????? Do you think a no tipping resort even has $359 in 1's and 5's????

I tried hard, but couldn't leave this one alone. After I read this idiot's profile and saw how he slammed CTI in his first ever review, then tried to artificially bolster his status, with a series of 26 good posts on only 4 days, I had to do something. Sent a nice little email to TA, letting them know the facts and suspicions surrounding this clown in general. Used the hyperlink to his profile, and also pointed out the facts about the storm rolling through and that his "stay" was less than half a day. I let them know that this disgrace really diminishes the quality of their reviews. We all get heated about certain things online, and there is always some bickering back and forth, but it is all in good fun. People are entitled to their opinions. This guy, however, attacked with malice. It is literally the only time I've ever wanted to find a "contributor" and confront him in person, just so I can watch as he curls up into the fetal position and admits that he's a manipulative loser!

I didn't get a chance to look at Jamaicasteve's full album on Webshots until now (link in his TA review). Ridiculous. Misleading. Employee area. Poor quality (on purpose or does he just sick big time at photography?). The guy is a piece of work. But you know what? WE can post COMMENTS for each photo there. DO IT so everyone knows the truth. Not sure if he can delete them, but hopefully not before people see our comments of the truth. It sure feels good to call him out on his garbage. hehehe

He deleted my comments and blocked me from commenting again. I know people are entitled to their opinions, but his photos are such a fraudulent representation, what with showing employee only areas in many photos, areas right after a storm, zoomed in to rooftops and calling it his view, zooming to a rust speck, moving his shower curtain and saying there's no door. I didn't even think it possible to take such horrible, dingy, out of focus photos. He's a horrible photographer! His photos look nothing like any others of the resort. I hope people realize that. It makes me angry because I've been there and saw how hard the staff work to keep it clean - raking, painting, etc. It was always sparkling... and the views from the rooms are amazing.
He is one angry disturbed individual... even monitoring his photos daily to be sure no one posts the truth. Who knows how many comments were posted that he removed already.... But thanks rugrat for also posting. Let's see how long they last. Keep posting people and let's drive him crazy removing and blocking. (wahaha.. evil laugh). Inbetween people will read the truth.

Agreed that this review is/was absurd. I stayed at CTI last year, did a bit of peeking around corners and I can't even figure out where some of those photos were taken. I think one is along the access road behind block 5, that's where our room was and if I leaned out of our balcony I could see some work areas. I agree with whoever called that "backstage". The amount of work needed to keep everything camera ready is huge, and I can certainly see why CTI spends most of its time working on the parts we see and not, say, a random maintenance path that isn't even near any doors into the buildings.

I've decided to ignore reviews on TA that don't meet my spelling & grammar standards. I teach elementary school. I'd keep JS in at recess for extra practice and a firm talking-to about integrity. ;-)

Love it! We all make mistakes with spelling, but as "well traveled, Travel Agent", you think the guy could at the least spell "Japanese" correctly. If not, I am sure he must have literature that would assist him.

I just looked and I can't find any comments today but I did notice the red flag at the end of the pier in one of the beach shots and the piles of seaweed raked up ready to be buried on the photo where he says the debris still hasn't been cleared yet. It was obviously in progress and he got a shot with the worker out of the frame.. I've watched that process over dozens of cups of coffee. This guy is really a piece of work. He must have rushed over as soon as he saw the weather report and knew a storm was coming in.

The really funny but sad thing is that he really thinks that Japanese is spelled Japonese. I was reading his glowing report of another resort and he spelled it the SAME way.

BTW...I LOVE Gary's response to the review. Randy's was good as well.....wish they both could have stayed.

Please help me to understand...why such an uproar over one single guy's ridiculous bad review on T/A? The title of this thread seems to describe some of the posters on here more than the T/A guy. And it's not even personal! It's not like he insulted your daughter. Or even insulted the condition of your home. He made up a bad review of a vacation spot we go to. So what? Couples will survive this without our help. Do you all have the same reaction to a critic who gives a bad review of a movie you like?

So why are you getting so angry and putting forth so much energy to try and bring him down? It reminds me of the savagery mob mentality of Lord of the Flies. How dare him defame our vacation resort! Let's bring ourselves down to his level and grab our torches and pitchforks and burn him at the stake!

I agree with Dave to an extent....if it was just the one review I guess that wouldn't have bothered me..but all the pictures posted on WEBSHOTS and the obvious photo shopping.....it is just a major insult like Randy said. Also this guy is a MAJOR JERK. His only intent is to make Couples (the company as a whole) look really bad and in a newbies eyes this would have an effect. His comments should be removed and he should be barred from TA. I requested the review be removed again this morning! My comments to the pictures on WEBSHOTS have been removed and I have been blocked from posting any more comments on his pictures....I requested the pictures be removed from there as well.....

As for me....can't wait to come home.....CTI 3/23

As I am just as offended as many on this man's slam of our "paradise destination", I feel that it is up to us to keep writing in our extremely positive observations, as we visit. This will counteract any thing he says. He is one and we are MANY!! People reading his slams hopefully keep reading all of our praises. Proud to call Couples home for 11 years and counting. To add to what Randymon said about insulting the condition of "our" home. JS seems to take great delight in doing so and to insulting many of us that are not only here on the Couples message board, but on the TA board as well.

I have been subjected to his attacks many times, ok, I admitt that there have been times that I brought some of it on myself by disagreeing with him, but I can honestly say that I have not ever tried to mislead anyone or lie. Which he has done on many, many occasions.

It is a given that not everyone will love Couples, my sister was with us several years ago to CN and while she enjoyed it, she has no desire to go back. And I do think that everyone is entitled to their opinion, even JS, but not to the extent of lying to people to support your opinion.

This IDIOT has made my life and MANY MANY others life a living battle on TA. We were constantly harassed for YEARS when we ever dared have an opinion against his WINDY resorts. Which in my case were all completely truthful. They included contracting Giradi, an intestinal parasite, ruined vacations, ruined clothing, flooded rooms, foreign objects in food and a nearly ruined wedding just to name a few.

Finally TA has began to shut him down by suspending him 2X!! Since the last suspension he has been relegated to having to leave reviews. He can no longer argue constantly or solicit customers.

I applaud Randy for allowing this thread to continue. It has done WONDERS for a lot of us. We have been allowed to vent and bond as a group. Get a good laugh while exposing this person for what he is.....A LIAR and A SCAMMER!

Exactly Randy!!!! I have battles the infamous "JS" for years and quite frankly, have wanted to strangle him on numerous occasions. He instigates verbal battles that involve Couples over and over again. Ludicrous statements just to cause problems, telling people incorrect information (like its ok to tip, just be discreet) when he had never stayed at ANY Couples resort. Please note, per his review, HE STILL HASNT!!!!!
For any of you that have not followed his antics on that other website, JS CLAIMS to have stayed at Couples in the past when in fact, he has only visited the properties, not been a guest. Showing up on their doorstep and asking for a tour and a free lunch is not the same thing!!!!
Randy and Gary did the right thing in having him removed and his slanderous comments stopped. I only hope the other website comes to their senses and removes his ridiculous review before unsuspecting travellers believe his nonsense. Couples is the #1 AI chain in the Caribbean for a reason. Quite frankly, IMHO, they blow the "Windy" resorts away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
