There is no real benefit other than your Romance Rewards checkin bonuses will be waiting for you, as well as any special booking benefits (such as the spa and giftshop credits) that you are eligible for.

It's a pre-check-in for your Romance Rewards perks, it's not a room check-in. It just helps the staff know what gifts to have ready and waiting on repeaters.
