Question about spa and gift shop vouchers

We booked our 2010 trip during the period when couples was offering Spa and gift shop credits for guests staying X # of nights. We were also able to take advantage of this promotion in 2009, and were unable to spend all of our spa credits.
This year we have family members joining us to celebrate our anniversary. Are we able to gift them time in the spa using these credits, or do we have to spend them on ourselves?
