I actually like the look if it's done right. Men are wearing them all over Europe, and I don't see anything wrong with it. Sure, it's different than what you're used to seeing in the U.S., but are you seriously going to make someone feel uncomfortable who chooses to wear them at the resort ? Whatever happened to "no worries mon".... "welcome home" .... "wear what you want, we won't judge" kind of Couples mentality?

Manpris - very fashionable and acceptable in European fashion; my family is from Germany and Austria and they laugh at the "long basketball shorts" that North Americans wear; my reply is we don't all look good in a Speedo at 60 Enjoy paradise - no matter what your fashion sense is or is not

They're big in the gay community, and I'm sure the gays don't appreciate being made fun of.

I did make a comment earlier about us laughing about a guy we saw here in the States wearing capris. Would NEVER make someone uncomfortable about wearing them though. When in Jamaica, there are people from all over World. You have to expect to see fashions from all over ~ it's interesting to see what other cultures are wearing. I guess the long basketball shorts are America's version of "Manpris."

I tend to agree with Bobby and Lisa, first time I've seen so much judgement on the MB. If the person is comfortable in his capri's then it's all good. Respect and love!

It's pretty sad that in this day and age that people are still judged on outward appearances. One would hope that we would have advanced far beyond making judgments based on what we see on the outside. You know the old sayings 'you can't judge a book by it's cover' & 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'?

I make a point of getting to know someone who looks different than I do and come to find that they are the nicest most sincere people I've ever met.

You really don't know anyone until you've spoken with them. Take the time to get to know someone you wouldn't think you'd relate to and maybe you'll make a lifelong friend.

Step out of your comfort zone and take a chance, make a friend.

Maybe it would be best to let others decide what they want to wear when they are on vacation? Just a suggestion for those who like to help decide how others dress and how others enjoy their vacations. My wife would never let me out of the house in capri pants, and I would never want a pair... but that doesn't mean we should judge others for their choices.

    Hi All!
I agree 100% about giving people a chance. I also, tend to gravitate towards poeple that may dress differently or behave a little differently. God knows, I'm not normal! He he!
Originally I thought that this thread started out with posts similar to the light-hearted "Jorts thread" a year or so ago. We all had a lot of fun posting jorts jokes, pics, etc. No harm was intended.
Hope everyone has a great time on their next Couples vacation... No matter WHAT you decide to pack!

Come on folks... some of you are getting wound up a little much over this...

I made this initial post almost two years ago. How it got brought back now, somebody must a been seriously searching old posts .....

It was all meant in jest as most people at that time realized.

Of course I would not laugh or say anything to this guy or anyone else to make them uncomfortable. Everybody to their own thing. It was just an observation on my part at the time. I'm sure that there are people that don't like the way I dress as well.

ORV -- Nothing was said about him being gay. As a matter of fact he was with a lovely lady at the time.

Irie at CN -- People are judged on their outward appearance at all times and I seriously doubt you can say you've never judged anyone based on their appearance. That being said, I didn't judge him base on his clothes. I merely made a comical point of the clothing. Never gave a thought to anything other than that.

tanfastic -- This message board is FULL of people making judgements about how people look, how they dress, how they act, where they sit (palapas), and in many other ways.

Loosen up ..... laugh about the people and world around you ..... laugh about yourself even more .... enjoy your life ..... don't spend it trying to find something to be offended by.

Don't worry people ..... I'm sure this thread will be closed and deleted before long. So flame away while you still can.

They don't look any different on men than on women. I don't like them on women either, but it is ok for them so why is not ok for men?

Well said. My post was to inform men that capris are not considered long pants for the restaurants that require long pants.

From such a simple and innocent beginning. There seems there is no end to humanity's insanities.

markandjannett.....I know you never saw any of this when posted.

While I don't wear capris, I do have a pair of nice pumps that I wear some evenings.

I guess the picture doesn't show any more so I wasn't referring to anyone in particular, just a observation on what I've seen.

I do agree about the people getting bent out of shape. I wanted to post something like "Lighten up Francis"

This sounds like europen fashion. Quite popular amongst younger men here in UK and very popular in Spain, France and Italy. If the man is good looking and slim enough they can look quite stylish but the larger man should probably avoid. If you goole image 'capri shorts for men' you shall see what I mean.

Markandjannette, I agree with you, we all need to laugh more at ourselves and be willing to have others laugh at/with us, my only point is that I personally don't like to make judgements about how people look or dress (I don't think you personally were!). Now passing judgement on how someone acts is another thing, the gloves come off in that instance and I'm the first person that will stand up and make fun of the drunk/loud/obnoxious person making a scene. I wasn't offended by the post at all, it's all good. I hope to meet up sometime at CSA, look for me, I will be in the gold baggy "Hammer" pants and shiney shirt ; )
