    Default Reservation Change

We just upgraded from the one bedroom ocean view to the one bedroom beachfront at CSS. When we made the original reservation my thought was the exercise would be good for us. But the more I thought about it...we’re on vacation, mon...do we really want to climb 150 steps to get to our room?

Reading all the posts (and getting ready to our 1st trip to CSS) I know that everyone talks about “climbing the steps” to get to their rooms but I guess I am clueless of the actual amount of actually steps I’ll be climbing (and probably cursing) at the end of a long relaxing evening. Your post has me thinking and wondering just how many steps I’ll be taking to get to our room? Right now I’m thinking those “steps” will help me work off the fabulous food and drink, but then like you I’m wondering just how many steps I want to climb? Just how bad is the climb to the Penthouse Rooms? 59 days and a wake-up! //Maria

We're booked into the Beachfront suites as well. I figure we can always go to the gym or walk the stairs at night when its cooler. This hot weather we are having lately, really gives you a taste of what we're in for in Jamaica.

We like the 1 bedroom. But if your evening winds up at the Balloon Bar, which is where the entertainment after dinner is you are already on that level.

Your thoughts were the same as mine, cupcake. At first I thought the climb would be a good workout, but if we are heading back to our room after an evening of fun and drink, it may be a challenge. Once we get there and get an idea of how the resort is laid out, I may change my mind and reserve the one-bedroom ocean view for our next visit.

We were at CSS last August and yes there are steps! I can attest to the fact that you CAN make it back to your room after one too many rum punches on the beach. I think the steps add to the ambience of CSS. If you take the orientation tour of the resort, you can map your way through with the least amount of steps. We always went via the mineral pool and up the elevator when we were pooped out. And just an FYI, I only gained 2 pounds this trip while at CSA I gained 7. My husband actually lost weight while at CSS. I figured the more we walked the more we could eat! I personally liked the suites since we were away from the activity, should we wanted to be.

We stayed at the beachfront suite last year and was very disappointed with the view so we have booked the one bedroom ocean suite this year - 7th August!!! woopee doo. The steps are not that bad and there is a lift from the spa to the penthouse (s) area.

Personally the steps have never bothered me - they are very scenic and its not like its 150 steps straight up. Its 20 steps here then a walk then 20 steps there and another walk. The view from the G Block is spectacular and the balcony is huge - table 2 chairs and 2 lounge chairs - well worth the walk. Took us about 5 minutes to walk to the beach - takes me that long to walk from the parking garage to my office.
