Default Romance Rewards and Facebook Contest Credit - bummer

Booked my vacation (yay) but am very bummed about the Romace Rewards points. I understand that they should have an expiry date, but if you book your trip before they expire I think you should be allowed to keep them. Especially given that we are 3x repeaters.

I was even more dissapointed to learn that the $250 facebook contest credit was only good for three months travel out of the year. We even booked during hurricane season/slowest weeks of the year.

Anything that anyone can do out there? I'm a little dissapointed.

I'm confused about the romance rewards also. Do they always go away after 4 years or is it only if you haven't booked a trip in 4 years? If you book a trip every single year does it matter? I'm not sure if what I'm saying makes sense. Hmm..let's see if I can make it sound right. So, let's say you book a trip every single year...does that mean that every year you will be dropping (let's just say 9) days off the end of your romance rewards? If you are at 24 and this is year 5 does that mean that the first 9 is going to be dropped off because it was over 4 years ago you first went? I hope this makes sense but this is what I'm confused about.

I too am in the four year expiring group... we booked within 4 years, but our travel is just outside of it.. I do wish they'd change this loophole.. is there really a reason they have to expire so soon? Many people return in 5/10 year anniversary increments.. 4 years seems awfully arbitrary...

I suspect they knew exactly what they wanted with the 4 year thing. They already had you hooked to come back on the 5/10 plan. My wife and I were there last Feb/Mar for our first trip ever. While there we started to make plans to come back for our 30th anniversary (5 years). Didn't work out like that but that was our plan. Instead of waiting 5 years to go back we are returning this year. I would like to see the points go away after 4 years of non activity. Bottom line is, it is a promotional tool Couples has designed to keep people coming back and I suspect they did some research that showed a 5 year cycle and they are trying to increase repeat business.
