Scuba at CSS
My fiance and I will be staying at CSS in June for 8 nights on our honeymoon. We have taken our Scuba certification course so that we can take advantage of this option at the CSS while we are there. I am wondering if anyone has any advice about diving with the resort.
Are there any specific dives we should do, night dive, do they offer dive computers to rent or possibly included, do they offer multiple dive excursions or is it one trip one dive, etc? Anyone that has experience with diving at CSS and would be willing to share their experience, that would be greatly appreciated.

They used to do 2 days a dive for certified divers. Last year it was just 1, and if you were lucky you could go on the resort course dive if there was room on the boat (if it went at all). Never did get clarification as to why, since the other resorts still do 2 a day for certified. The gear is fine, they recently replaced all the regulators. It is not a true dive boat, more modified snorkeling/glass bottom due to the reef. Everyone raves about the night dives, we plan to do one this year when we go. Not sure if you can rent a dive computer or not....

My advice -- make friends with the dive staff. We've never been to CSS, but have made several trips to CTI and think the divemasters are the best in the world. We consider Collin family and cannot wait to see him again in September.
CSS is a little different from what I gather because the cove/lagoon is shallower and has more of a reef right at the beach area. That's why the different kind of boat.
Both resorts go to the same sites. Shipwreck Katherine is great and there is a "wall" that's very nice. Not like Cozumel walls but certainly different than the typical site we visit in Jamaica. The good thing about Jamaica diving is that it's pretty easy most of the time, which is great for beginners. We've had a couple of dives where we got to the surface to find it pretty choppy which made getting back on the boat both interesting and, in my case, painful.
Enjoy your trip!
