Silverbirds steel drum @ CN - what day?

We are heading back Jamaica in mid. May this year for our 2nd visit (but certainly NOT the last) to CN and very excited !

When we stayed there last time, we saw the fabulous '' Silverbirds'' steel drum band once and absolutely loved it!!!! We'd been to various Caribbean resorts for a fair amount of times before but that was the BEST performance we ever saw.

However during that one week stay in NOV 2010, we only managed to see them play ONCE which was at around the lunch time and they were playing by the Cassava Terrace. Is this the standard frequency??? Just once a week? We weren't at the resort all the time as we took a day out or two so we might have just missed the rest.

Does anyone know what day of the week they play @ CN recently and roughly what kind of time? Not even sure if this particular band is playing on the specific day of the week on regular basis but wanted to know your up-to-date experiences during your recent stay...

We're planning a day out this time again for a few times (One Love Pub Crawl, Trading place to CSA, YS fall day trip, shopping trip, Sunset bar) and want to work around the dates to make sure we'll be at the resort when they are planning to play - WE DON'T WANT TO MISS IT!

I also sort of remember seeing some kind of another steel band playing at the beach buffet night too but felt the Silverbirds we saw at the lunch time was far better....

Hi There --we just returned from CN. The Silverbirds performed in front of Cassava on Sunday afternoon, and Cassava at night on Thursday. They played a different set of music for each performance. The afternoon performance was more energetic since they had more room to perform, but both performances were amazing.

I believe they play Thurs. night at the beach party as well as Sun. afternoon around 1pm for about an hour I believe. Well worth seeing both shows. They are not the same show. Check out these two links for a little taste;
