There is inside each of us, the power to create,
From our beginning to our end, creativity should not wait.
Each day as we rise, we make choices all the time,
From what to wear, or what to eat, we could be cruel or we could be kind.
Every day that is there to greet us, can be filled with much delight,
It's up to each of us and how we behave, that can make it turn our right.
If we choose to linger on yesterdays hard times,
Then no matter what we do with that new day, it will turn out to be unkind.
When one day ends and another day begins anew,
It's how much effort we put in to it, that will make a better me and you.
Mistakes are always made each and every day,
But it's a case of how we conduct ourselves, that will help to pave the way.
Towards happiness and togetherness, we should always stride,
And it takes a lot of effort, no one gets a free ride.
The years will come and the years will go, one right after the other,
We can remain alone, hiding our thoughts and feelings,
Always looking to find some cover.
Or we can rise to see the brand new day, and a chance to make a difference,
We have the power to turn bad into good, it just depends on your preference.
Some will always find the bitter side of life,
But that kind of day to day living can only cause us strife.
The sun is always shining, even though we may not see it,
We can be blinded by the glowing light or we can be led to greatness that can free us.
The choice is ours to make each new day, it all depends on your approach.
We can travel the road in misery or we can ride in a beautiful coach.
I always hope when each new year begins its dawning,
I tell myself, it can be better, and try to heed the warning.
It's true that there are pitfalls, of that I am convinced,
But if we put in more of an effort, then we won't have to wince.
Imagine if every person who is living on this planet,
Could keep positive thoughts, all the time,
Then all the hatred and nastiness would be very hard to find.
I hope as this new year that is about to have its start,
Will find joy and love and kindness deep within our hearts.
It's really not as difficult if you think about it with love as the motivating factor,
It doesn't take a super special breed, you don't have to be an actor
Just smile each time you pass your neighbor or a friend,
And those kinds of efforts could lead us to a much sweeter end.
Don't let another day go by, where you find yourself in pain,
Keep kind thoughts at the forefront, it will not be in vain.
I wish and hope for all of you, that the next twelve months will be,
just keep warm thoughts, and love thy self, then everyone will see,
That even though the road we travel, is filled with trials and tribulations,
We can make if better for all, there is much strength in all our nations
