I know that we cannot schedule our "repeater's massage" until we arrive at the resort. Is the same true for any other spa services that we wish to use the "credit" for that we received when we made our reservation? Also, does anyone have the details on how the spa and gift shop credit actually works at CSS?
You can not book any free or credit type spa services until you get to the resort.
How it works, your will be given a slip of paper for each of your credits. At CTI you turn the paper into the spa or gift shop and they log it into the computer. Every time you want to use it, you tell them and they take it off your balance.
Not sure about CSS, but I'm sure the gift shop credit applies the same across all resorts... charge it to your room then present your credit voucher at checkout. As for spa credit, at SweptAway earlier this year, we had to present the credit voucher at the spa when we received the services, and then they debited against it.
Hope that helps...
We've stayed at CN 12 times, most recently in March 2009, and the gift shop credit worked just as Chris described. We'd buy whatever we needed during the week (e.g., sunblock, shampoo and conditioner, etc.) as we needed it, and then present the certificate at checkout.
When we were at CSS last week, however, we were required to present our certificate when we purchased something (we had the $75 RR gift certificate), and the cashier was adamant that our total had to equal $75 EXACTLY. We couldn't charge an overage to the room, and it got to be ridiculous pretty quickly. At first, she was reluctant to let us spend less than $75, but I think she sensed my growing frustration and finally decided to accept the gift certificate for $71 worth of merchandise.
I profoundly prefer the way it is handled at CN and CSA.
WOW you must have got a grumpy employee we used our repeaters gift shop credit with no problems last Dec came to 75.75 so they called it even.
