    Default AT&T Cell Coverage

How crazy is it that we booked our trip to CSS for the same week that I'm anticipating job offers via phone?! I have no choice but to purchase an international calling package so I can accept calls. Before I purchase the package, I want to make sure my AT&T phone (it's a newer Samsung phone) will pick up service at CSS. Can anyone who uses AT&T tell me what their cell reception was like?

    Phones work.

We take ours, opt-in to the plan, etc every year. Usually they stay asleep, but Digicel is 3g (supposedly 4g, but no carrier TRULY is) so you'll be fine.

At CSA last year my AT&T Samsung got great reception, much to my dismay! Its not the reception that will be a problem, but the bill when it arrives.

We have AT&T and had no problem with our service - even purchsed the text plan prior to leaving - $10.00 for 50 total texts...incoming and out going. Also with our iPhone, we were able connect to the wifi which made it nice to connect via email and facebook with the kids.

Forgot to mention; tun off the 3g/4g when you don't NEED it on. Digicel likes to spam texts, friends call at inopportune times, etc.

We used Skype on our iPhones. Direct dial number is $18/3 months. Never had a problem receiving a call. Not sure if that's an option with the Samsung?

I actually spoke with someone from AT&T and decided not to go with the plan. I'm leaving my cell phone behind with my mom who will answer important calls for me then email me any details. She said she will not allow me to spend my trip worrying about missing a phone call. So now I will save the money and have peace of mind (can't put a price on that)!

    hi there,

just wanted to chime in because i also expected job offer phone calls while at CSS last Sept. i have Verizon, and i signed up for the free google voice feature--where any voicemails are emailed to me as a file to listen to, as well as typed up. i had my laptop for skype, so i could get my email any time. to be able to call people (work) back, i used the call feature of skype, which was way cheaper than the international plan.
that worked out really well. just another idea. good luck!
