    Default Tipping Question

Heres a question on tipping...I understand that everyone tips the porters or baggage handlers at the airport and tips the shuttle driver. $1 a bag for porters and $20 for the shuttle driver..What about on the return trip to the airport?? Tip the driver again?? or will it be the same driver?? Thanks

Different driver, but even if it's not a different driver it's a different day. Tip on the way back too IMO.

We actually skip the bag guys at the airport and take our bags to the bus on our own. You just have to tell them that you will take your own bag. If you do have them take your bags, $1/bag is fair. We give the shuttle guy $10 for the trip to the resort and $10 for the trip back. Some people do more, some less, but we feel this is fair. We look at it as a $5 tip for each person. We always include 2 $10 bills in our cash supply for this reason.

Even if it's the same driver...it's a different trip.

Yes, $1 per bag at the airport, and really tip the amount you feel comfortable with for the shuttle drivers- but please do tip them. Personally, we tip the shuttle drivers wherever they take us (to and from airport, to and from DRF excursion, shopping excursion etc...) You would be surprised how few people actually tip the drivers....thus the reson we always OVERtip.

We tip the driver again, but we take our own luggage into the airport. If you use the porters, they are expecting a tip also.

    Hi newguy2013,
The driver of your "goodbye bus" also should be tipped. If porters help you get your bags to the baggage counter, they should be tipped too.

    All the best,

The driver will not be the same person. You will need to tip the driver on your way back to the airport.

Tip the driver again. It's probably someone different.

You tip the return driver as well. They make their living off of the tips. We always have the porters help us when we arrive, but handle our own bags when we leave since you literally step right inside to check-in.

Check in not right inside for all airlines. Air Tran is all the way at the end.
As for taking to shuttle they still have to be loaded on the bus. It's only a couple of bucks. At the end of a cruise you're can be leaving a couple hundred bucks.

The Red Cap porters only get paid from tips so we're happy to have them take the bags to and from the bus for a few bucks, usually five if we have 3 or 4 bags.

We tipped every driver and baggage handler, but not $20.
