OK -- a question for all you travel agents out there who are on this thread...
One reason we book directly through Couples is we typically end up changing our dates slightly from the time we book until the time we leave. We stay within the same booking period, and keep the same room category and # nights.
Couples direct is able to do this for us WITHOUT our losing our credits or rate. We booked through an agent once, and in order to move our dates, we paid a re-booking fee AND the prevailing rate which was higher. (Note: We did NOT have airfare yet, so the rebooking fee was not for air.)

Can any of you guys rebook like that? If so, I would gladly switch to a travel agent. (Not that Faye at the Couples reservations line isn't LOVELY!)

Our first trip to Couples was in 2004 for our honeymoon. At the time you could still use birth certificates if you didnt have a passport. We were flying Air Jamaica out of LA and when we went to check in they would not let us on the flight because my husband didnt have the correct birth certificate. He had the one from the hospital with the gold seal but apparently we needed the one from the state. Of course I panicked. Thankfully we went through a travel agent and so I called her right away. The next morning my father-in-law who lives in Connecticut, drove to Albany to get my husbands birth certificate and mailed it to us over night mail. Our travel agent took care of all the travel and resort arrangement and within 3 days we were on a flight like we didnt miss a beat. She was amazing and after that I swore I would never not have a travel agent. As a matter of fact we have gone through her every year since. It just gives us such a sense of relief and security that if anything happens we have someome that knows the ropes and knows exactly what to do to resolve any situation that might come up. I would definitely recommend using a travel agent.
