    Default walkway

Randy - great idea on the walkway of love!! Simple and more astectically pleasing then the fred sanford memorial. One question, if the walkway was put into use, any idea on what would be acceptable " footware" for said walk?

    Randy,
With the luggage weight restrictions I don't know how feasible it would be to bring a brick to Jamaica! What if Couples sold the bricks or stones with the money going to the Issa Foundation? Couples could then have their names and maybe wedding date or date of their Couples visit on the stone. I've seen similar programs work back home.

    Yeah, so can I!

I'm thinking it's a walkway, why wouldn't we walk on it with whatever footwear we walk on any other walkway...doesn't really have to be that complicated does it?!

AWESOME Idea! My town's local VFW memorial was funded that exact way buy selling bricks to make a walkway. Great new fund raising idea for the Issa Foundation.

I think the walkway idea is really a good one. Couples should, as Sueboo suggests, sell the bricks inscribed as a fund raiser for the Issa Foundation. Many university stadiums have done this with great success. It could be incoporated at all the resorts.

Perfect!!! Then Couples could standardize the stones so that they would fit together on the walkway and simplify the installation. Great idea charging quite a bit more than the stones actually cost and donating the proceeds to the Issa Foundation. I LOVE IT!!!

I'm not understanding the original question.....

"any idea on what would be acceptable " footware" for said walk?"

Is this a joke? I don't get it. No disrespect intended.

I'm of the same mind as Sueboo, the prospect of everybody carting a brick to Jamaica seems somewhat impractical. How about the idea of the resort selling them and donating proceeds to the Issa trust ? That sounds like a win win situation.

I for one am so glad the lock idea went by the wayside, I thought it was so ugly for such a beautiful place. I am 100% behind the brick idea with all the money going to the ISSA foundation what a wonderful idea!!! Count us in!!!

Ha ha - no not new at all. just pointing out the obvious - that someone always manages to complicate an uncomplicated issue.

It's a walkway...a hypothetical one at this point. But watch it get killed over people wanting to *gasp* walk on it with shoes!!

I suppose a thread search is in order here. But I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I understand the "brick fundraiser" idea and think it is brilliant. But I have no idea where this whole conversation originates. I assume another thread?

Just my observation. Carry on with what you were doing before I interupted.

    Here is the oiginal post:

    http://couplesjamaica.biz/mb/showthread.php?t=1378

Someone copied a Russian tradition of putting locks on a chain in a public place. Very ugly and inapropriate for a Couples resort. They actually started the chain and locks on Tower Island without management approval. Luckily, Randy saw the post when he returned from vacation and put and end to it. He suggested the walkway idea which is a very good idea that eveyone seams to be behind. I just hope it gets started before we get there in January.

About 2 years ago I had suggested walkway bricks with the names of the Couples who were married at Couples. I had said at that time that they did it where our Flyers play in Philadelphia, where you paid to have a brick with your name on it. These bricks are all around the Wachovia Center. I still think this is a great idea for any couple! Would hope that Couples decides to do this at each resort.

roger that, or something like the hollywood walk of fame ...but hopefully it will be open to all couples in love just not those who were married there... maybe they can have a special brick/design for those who were married how special would that be

If the brick idea catches on your idea -dianavr- is a good one. I'm sure alot of us would love to have our names inscripted with the wedding dates! How bout it Couples?
